The Module will be based out of DFPC's Windsor office, with opportunities for incident assignments, severity assignments, or pre-positioning as needed. This collaborative effort marks the first cross-boundary, multi-jurisdictional approach to fuels management and wildfire risk reduction in northern Colorado. ABOUT THE JOB: The Fuels Module Crewmember works as part of a firefighting and fuels management resource (that can be configured as an engine, helicopter, squad, module or handcrew) to provide a range of firefighting, fuels management, and related services. As a crewmember, this position engages in fire suppression and mitigation projects (i.e. prescribed fire, hazardous fuel reduction, natural resource management, etc.). Crewmembers also assist with training programs, and other preparedness activities. As assigned and qualified, this position will also provide all-hazard incident response and assists with other WFMS or DFPC programs. Individuals assigned to Fuels Modules perform all of the duties of a Firefighter, but their primary focus and majority of their time is spent on prescribed fire and fuels projects.
