It's back-to-school time, which means you are seeing many community drives for backpacks, pens, notebooks, and folders. What's often left off these lists? Period products. Period products ARE school supplies. #DiaperOnNC Through our Period Power initiative, we supply over 300 public schools at the elementary, middle, and high school levels with pads, tampons, black leggings, and underwear so that young menstruating individuals can focus on their learning instead of their basic hygiene. Disaster relief DOES NOT provide diapers, period supplies, or adult incontinence items. But we do. #DiaperOnNC We are monitoring Hurricane Debby as it moves up the East Coast this week. Diaper Bank of NC has already contacted the NC Department of Emergency Management and NC Volunteer Organizations Active in Disaster (NC VOAD). If needed, our team is ready to stage shelters with essential hygiene supplies before the storm arrives and respond with more support once the storm passes.
