Happy World Occupational Therapy Day! The theme for this year is, “Occupational Therapy for All.” The theme reflects the important role of the profession in facilitating the ability of individuals, communities, and populations to participate in the activities that they want, need, or are expected to do in their daily lives. Occupational therapy is a vital part of hospice. This form of therapy is used to help those recovering from physical or mental illnesses. We work to encourage rehabilitation to help with certain activities that are necessary for daily life. OTs play a crucial role in the hospice care team. They help identify significant life roles and activities that provide some meaning to patients. They’ll talk to the patient to find out what they want to accomplish and what’s most important to them. They also consider the available support systems and resources they may have to achieve those goals. Thank you, Occupational Therapist, for all the hard work that you do each day!

We had a blast at the Trunk or Treat event held at Baptist Crittenden Hospital in West Memphis, AR. Dierksen Hospice was the exclusive outside vendor selected for participation! The rest of the "trunks" were creatively crafted by various departments of the hospital. Our theme was throwback to the 80s! #OurCareFamily #CommunityLove

During Spiritual Care Week, we celebrate the chaplains who serve not only as spiritual guides but also as counselors, listeners, and compassionate companions. Their roles extend far beyond religious care, as they wear many hats to provide support wherever it’s needed most. Meet Roderick as he shares what called him to hospice. "I get the opportunity to be inclusive every day without jeopardizing my calling. Like Jesus, no patient, or family is left behind because of Religious Beliefs, certain practices or principles, believer or non-believer. I get it to "Love One Another as He Loved Me." #SpiritualCareWeek #MoreThanReligion #ManyHatsOfCare #OurCareFamily

This week we want to take the time to celebrate and educate you for Spiritual Care Week! Spiritual care can be a wide range of different cultures and religions. The theme this year is “Chaplains Beyond Religious Roles.” These colleagues wear so many different hats and our team would be incomplete without our Chaplains. Help us show them some love this week! #OurCareFamily #SpiritualCareWeek #ChaplainsBeyondReligiousRoles

Today we want to remind you to schedule your mammograms. Did you know that a mammogram can often detect a problem before there is any outward physical sign? All women over 40 years old are recommended to have a mammogram yearly for preventative measures. #EarlyDetectionSavesLives #PreventativeCare #WomenHealth #KnowYourRisk #ScheduleYourMammogram #BreastCancerAwareness #ScreeningSavesLives
