How Necessary is a College Degree in Today’s Job Market? College enrollment is down 8.5% since 2010. Tuition costs are rising, and student debt is at an all-time high. Only 22% of US adults say the cost of getting a four-year college degree today is worth it. Despite this sentiment, 70% of jobs by 2028 will require a postsecondary credential. How do we best prepare US high school students for the jobs of the future, and is a college degree a necessary part of that path?
