The region's unique geological and paleontological sites can attract visitors worldwide, offering immersive experiences in exploring fossils, prehistoric landscapes, and geological wonders. With a focus on our unique selling points, dinosaur and paleo experiences will drive economic growth and benefits for Queensland as a whole. With exciting developments on the horizon, 2025 promises to be a significant year for DEA. Dinosaur Experiences Australia (DEA) is thrilled to announce the appointment of Karen Hanna Miller as its new Program Manager, effective 24February2025. With a respected and accomplished career in media, partnerships, content creation and marketing, Karen is known for successfully delivering outstanding and original creative projects across the tourism, events and media industries. Karen brings a wealth of experience in the tourism and cultural heritage sectors, with strong editorial judgement, creative acumen and a proven track record in building collaborative networks. Her media, broadcast and digital content development expertise will be instrumental in enhancing DEA’s mission to promote dinosaur-related tourism and educational experiences across the region. Karen is poised to lead this unique paleo-based tourism collective into an exciting new chapter of growth and engagement. She has long been a champion of Outback Queensland and comes to DEA with extensive governance experience including Board roles at Tourism Events Queensland (TEQ), Outback Queensland Tourism Association (OQTA), St Joseph's Nudgee College and the Queensland Music Festival. “We are delighted to welcome Karen to the team,” said John Fitzgerald, Chair of the collective. “Her visionary approach and deep understanding of the region align perfectly with our goals. Dig into dinosaur tourism development in 2025 - work with Dinosaur Experiences Australia! The Dinosaur Tourism Collective Ltd (trading as Dinosaur Experiences Australia) is a member-based tourism collaboration based in Queensland. Launched in June 2023, we play a potentially significant role in growing the visitor economy in the Outback by focussing on our unique selling proposition – dinosaur, megafauna and marine fossils. With plans to work collaboratively to leverage Australia’s world-famous natural history, we are searching for a skilled Program Manager to drive Dinosaur Experiences Australia’s (DEA) growth aligning our immersive and fun experiences with high-value-travellers who love science, dinosaurs/palaeontology and possess a curiosity to learn more. The selected candidate will work a minimum of 2 days/week, maximum of 3days/week. They will be a highly motivated individual with broad management capability and a clear understanding of the tourism environment in Australia. Ideally, they will have a passion for facilitating engaging immersive education-based tourism experiences, be based in Queensland, and available to travel occasionally in region.
