Attorneys and business professionals in Dinsmore’s Louisville and Cleveland offices recently got in the Halloween spirit to support local causes. First, the Louisville team’s annual Halloween candy drive helped stock Dinsmore’s station for Dreams With Wings Inc.’ Jack O’Lantern Stroll and Trunk or Treat event. Dreams with Wings is a nonprofit that works to empower children and adults with intellectual and developmental challenges. The fundraiser has become a premier Halloween event in the Kentuckiana area. In Cleveland, everyone put on their costumes and running shoes for the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association’s annual Run for Justice. The fundraiser benefits CMBF’s mission to provide important law-related education and enhanced educational opportunities to the students in the Cleveland and East Cleveland City Schools.

For 45 years, the Denver Ronald McDonald House has hosted families of sick children together, ensuring they stay close to the medical care they need. For the third consecutive year, the Firm is proud to be recognized with both the 2024 Top Performer and 2024 Compass Awards from the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity (LCLD). Dinsmore has been recognized on multiple occasions since first making the list in 2015. LCLD partners with law firm leaders to promote inclusivity within the legal profession. The Top Performer distinction highlights firms that have demonstrated exceptional engagement with the organization over the past year. We are grateful to Sunni Harris and Vincent Mora for their participation in the LCLD Fellows and Pathfinders programs, which contributed to this year's Compass Award. Additionally, Richik Sarkar has played a key role with LCLD for many years, including serving as the 2023-2024 Chair of the Alumni Executive Committee.

The latest Defense Counsel Journal issue focused on Federal Rule of Evidence 702. The issue took us through the amendments and what was being identified as “wayward case law.” Our comprehensive federal circuit-by-circuit guide identified key “wayward cases” that may fail to meet the standards of amended Rule 702. We invite you to read or share the Sixth Circuit guide by IADC members David T.
