When Google needed to create an easily adaptable environment in its latest New York location, their R+D team worked with DIRTT and Gensler to bring our design for disassembly and reuse capabilities to the project. The result was interior space that could be easily changed to meet the needs of those working in it. When The Wall Street Journal asked why this is important, Gensler’s Amanda Carroll, responded, “Because business keeps changing.” DIRTT was thrilled to help bring high-performing and dynamic environments to the team at Google, working alongside Gensler and COOKFOX Architects. Come tour DIRTT Flatiron inspired prefab Conference Room with me! Did you know the Manhattan Flatiron Building's triangular shape was designed to make the most of the building's oddly shaped lot. And the building's steel bracing allowed it to withstand four times the amount of wind force it was expected to endure! But the greatest achievement was embracing prefab solutions before prefab was a thing! The Flatiron Building in New York City was built in 1902 at a record pace, with construction progressing at a rate of one floor per week! This was due to a new innovative idea, by building with steel over masonry and having the structural steel parts pre-cut and pre-drilled off-site to allow quick install speeds. As DIRTT looks back on our 20 years of innovation, we also look ahead to bring a new level of cost certainty, schedule savings, and innovative construction solutions that will reform the industry.

As the office leasing landscape continues to evolve, older office buildings are facing increased competition from newer developments. Tenants today are looking for more than just a place to work. Work Design Magazine highlights three essential strategies for keeping aging buildings competitive in today’s marketplace: – Flexibility: Adaptability is necessary. Tenants need spaces that can easily shift to accommodate different functions and work styles. Multi-purpose spaces, modular furniture, and reconfigurable layouts are vital design interventions. – Wellness & Sustainability: To attract and retain tenants, incorporate wellness-driven amenities like fitness centers, meditation rooms, and outdoor spaces where employees can recharge. Furthermore, sustainable initiatives—such as energy-efficient systems, water conservation measures, and the use of eco-friendly materials—are essential in aligning with tenants' values and promoting healthier, greener spaces. – Smart Technology: In the era of smart buildings, technology is no longer an option—it’s a necessity. Integrating smart systems, such as touchless entry, and AI-driven management systems are essential for optimizing building performance and improving the user experience. These systems help reduce energy consumption, and provide real-time data that can improve operational efficiency. Properties that adopt these principles will not only stay relevant but can thrive in a competitive marketplace. Check out the full article to discover how workspaces are being reshaped to meet the needs of modern tenants: https://lnkd.in/gAXYJCmE Looking to revitalize an older building? DIRTT’s adaptable and sustainable solutions offer an innovative and efficient way to breathe new life into existing environments. Get in touch with our team to explore the possibilities.

Exciting to see Visa's new Global Market Support Center in San Francisco come to life! Designed by the talented team at HOK, this space embodies the future of commerce and work. At the heart of the design are flexible neighborhoods that blend functionality with variety, creating an inspiring environment for employees. With sleek custom finishes, low-profile glass walls, and integrated technology, the new center reflects Visa’s vision of innovation with a sophisticated, modern aesthetic. To maximize adaptability, Visa utilized DIRTT’s modular prefab construction system. This approach enabled the rapid installation of tech-enabled, pre-wired meeting rooms, which can be easily reconfigured as needs evolve. Features like removable wall panels, adjustable assemblies, and quick-connect electrical components will ensure future changes are seamless, minimizing disruption for this global fintech leader.
