As President of Safri Du Chile S.A. and based in Santiago, Chile, Roddy Ignacio Espinoza Méndez brings over two decades of mining industry experience. A civil engineer by training, Roddy has spent the last 15 years representing clients across South America, with notable expertise as the former Regional Sales Manager, South America at SPX FLOW, Inc. He also represents Derrick Corporation, further reinforcing his strong connections within the industry. Abhishek Shukla, Director of Somnium Management Consulting Private Limited and based in Delhi, India, joins us with an equally impressive background in mineral processing and sales. A mineral processing graduate with over 20 years of experience at leading companies like Tata Steel, Metso, Ludowici, FLSmidth, and Derrick Corporation, his extensive industry knowledge and expertise make Somnium Management Consulting Pvt. Ltd. a valuable partner as we bring our advanced technologies to the Indian market. We are actively seeking additional sales agents in Canada, Mexico, South America, and Australia. On this Veteran’s Day, we pause to honor and express our deepest gratitude to all the men and women who have bravely served in our armed forces. Last month, during our open house, we challenged our guests with a fun question: “As it stands today, how much does Gen C 50 TPH weigh?” We recently weighed the unit by crane and found the answer: 45,000 pounds! 🏋️♂️A shoutout to Dylan Herr for his spot-on guess.   Thank you to everyone who participated and made the event a success. More exciting updates to come on the Gen C 50 TPH unit as it is coming together nicely in our shop.

Congratulations to Bryan Pluid for being named our 2024 Q3 Employee of the Quarter. Bryan’s commitment to putting in extra work and his readiness for new projects are commendable. He excels at demonstrating processes to optimize our workflow and is always willing to assist anyone on the team. Bryan’s dedication to our mission is evident in his proactive approach to testing and providing crucial data. He maintains a great attitude while performing challenging tasks and continually seeks creative ways to drive our technology forward. As one co-worker put it, “Bryan's not afraid to dive in and get the job done. He is a pleasure to work with and always has the right attitude when working with the team. We’re thrilled to welcome Tim Lundquist to our team. With over 20 years in the mineral processing industry, Tim brings extensive expertise and a remarkable track record of success. He holds degrees in Mechanical and Industrial Engineering from the University of Minnesota Duluth and an Executive Leadership Certificate from the University of Utah. Starting as a screen media assembler during college, Tim’s career has spanned roles in engineering, applications, product management, and sales leadership.   Tim’s deep knowledge of full comminution circuits and his innovative approach to integrating emerging technologies make him a valuable asset. At Disa, he will lead global initiatives to identify and develop projects that leverage High-Pressure Slurry Ablation (HPSA) technology, ensuring its seamless integration into mineral processing circuits. We’re excited to see Tim's expertise drive our goals forward!

We had an incredible time last week showcasing our new Casper facility and our scaled-up 50-ton-per-hour HPSA unit with over 180 folks stopping by. It was great to meet everyone who came out to support us and see what Disa has been working on. It was also very special to have (almost) our entire team together for the event!

We are thrilled to announce that Dustin Weaver, our talented CFD Engineer, has successfully defended and completed his PhD. Disa began supporting Dustin’s PhD journey five years ago when he started at The University of British Columbia. Throughout his time at UBC, Dustin worked closely with Professor Sanja Miskovic, and we were delighted to have him officially join the Disa team in June this year. Dustin’s dedication and hard work have culminated in this remarkable achievement, and we couldn’t be prouder. His research in Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) has led to five impressive publications, showcasing his expertise and contributions to the field. Last week, I had the opportunity to travel to Mills, Wyoming (near Casper) to meet with Greyson Buckingham, John Lee and the team at Disa Technologies, Inc. to see, first hand, their high-pressure slurry ablation technology. This game changing process will revolutionize the ability to treat over 15,000 abandoned uranium mining sites in the west including many on the lands of the Navajo Nation. My thanks to the Commissioners of the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission for approving technologies like this for this purpose. All it takes is air, water and high pressure, no chemicals involved.
