Congratulations to Alex Abejar on five years with ECHO! Alex started as a Regional Sales Manager in 2019, moving his way up through the sales team to his current position as Director of North America Sales. "It definitely flew by," he says of the time at ECHO. "Every day is different, every day is exciting." Alex was drawn to ECHO because of the combination of functionality and good looks of ECHO's brand and products, but what ultimately made his decision to join was the people. He loves being at ECHO because of the small catalog, allowing him to focus on the exciting and more technical aspects of each product. He's also a big fan of the collaborative nature of the company and loves that everyone is driving together towards the same mission and goals. Outside of work, Alex enjoys cooking and hanging out with his cats, Kitty St. James and Lenjamin Franklin.

We'd like to offer congratulations to Jacquie Ramirez on her promotion to Field Service Engineer! Jacquie has been with ECHO for almost five years, and her recent transition to the service team is indicative of her impact. On the service team, Jacquie travels around the country to support users. "It's always something new," she says of traveling weekly for work. One of her favorites parts of the work has been meeting new people and interacting with ECHO's users. "Everyone is really open to learning," she notes. Her favorite aspect of the work is getting to look at the test slides. "It's fascinating," she says, to look at the samples.

Last Friday, ECHO held our second annual end-of-summer picnic at Pioneer Park in San Diego, and it was a blast! The day was filled with cornhole, a little rugby, and Kenyatta showing off his kendama skills, teaching the crew how it’s done. We had a potluck-style feast, with everyone bringing something delicious to share. We spent the day eating, laughing, and welcoming our extended ECHO families into the fun. A huge thank you to Dahhee Kim for organizing such a great event and to Larry Almuete for capturing it all with his amazing photos. Now it’s time to gear up for the end of the year!

Meet Robert Burgamy, Director of Service Operations for the Eastern US, Europe, the UK, and Israel. In July 2024, Robert celebrated six years with ECHO. Robert began his journey at ECHO on the manufacturing team as a Senior Production Technician. “I tried to learn every aspect on the production line, as much as I could,” he recalls. His keen understanding of the systems and commitment to excellence led him to a role on the service team in just six months. Outside of work, Robert enjoys tinkering with motorcycles (see photo!). He draws a connection between his passion and his profession, noting, “It’s the same mindset with troubleshooting or diagnosing microscopes. There are steps, there’s a logical reason why something is behaving that way.” His natural curiosity and methodical approach have made him a key player in ECHO’s service department. Now based in Georgia, Robert manages a broad and diverse region but still values the sense of community at ECHO. Though he misses the daily interactions at the San Diego office, he finds joy in working with his team across the field. “Working with the team out here, George, Noah, Lauren, Nicolette, it’s great seeing them out in the field. It’s like seeing great buddies,” he says.
