Angel Martinez, our October DEI session co-host, led an informative session to mark the end of Hispanic Heritage Month. We explored the evolution of this celebratory month, from its beginnings as a week-long recognition starting on September 15, honoring several Hispanic countries' independence, to its expansion into a month-long celebration. It now includes additional important cultural and independence days, officially lasting until October 15. September DEI: Unconscious Bias Workshop Earlier this month, our company participated in a DEI workshop focused on unconscious bias. During the session, we explored how implicit biases can subtly influence decision-making and team interactions. The training provided valuable insights into identifying and addressing these biases, offering practical strategies to mitigate their impact in both personal and professional settings. The interactive format made the session engaging and highlighted the importance of creating a psychologically safe workplace. Participants walked away with enhanced emotional intelligence and a better understanding of how to foster inclusivity within diverse teams.
