From 2000-2014 he served as director/instructor of SFSU CEL’s Digital Media & Entertainment programs and from 2006-2019, he served as film producer/director for San Francisco’s Stern Grove Music Festival. He's also worked with several non-profit organizations and currently serves in the position of Digital Media & Video Specialist for The Bridge School. In the film industry, Stevie is an Emmy-nominated Executive Producer for the film “RUMBLE: The Indians who Rocked the World”, which received a Special Jury Award for World Cinema Documentary at the 2017 Sundance Film Festival, won 3 Canadian Screen Awards & was named Best Canadian Film at Hot Docs. Mr. Salas has sold over two million solo records around the world and from 2006-2010 Stevie served as a music director and consultant for American Idol as well and in 2010 Stevie became the Advisor of Contemporary Music at the Smithsonian National Museum of the American Indian. Stevie Salas is also a recipient of the Native American Lifetime Achievement Award. Stevie Salas has worked with acts ranging from Mick Jagger to Justin Timberlake and Parliament Funkadelic to Rod Stewart.
