Doble’s cable monitoring is pushing the boundaries of condition monitoring and is helping the electric power industry operate cable systems of any voltage in a more reliable, safe and secure manner. Using near real-time asset health and condition data, we help protect critical power cables and connected assets, safely ensuring uptime, and reducing traditional operating costs. Built on the same core technology used for manufacturing and commissioning acceptance testing, our solution helps customers prevent major faults in transmission and distribution cables by identifying: ⚡ Internal Partial Discharge (PD) in the cable and its accessories ⚡ Surface PD on cable terminations ⚡ Corroded Shield ⚡ Broken Jacket ⚡ Temperature Anomalies ⚡ Cable Movement Learn More https://lnkd.in/dg-nA8Fd #DobleTested #partialdischarge #powercables #conditionmonitoring #HVcables #MVcables #undergroundcables #cablemonitoring

Failure is often seen as a setback, but it’s one of the most powerful tools for growth.💡 As Babson College’s own “Dr. Failure” Yasuhiro (Yasu) Yamakawa, Ph.D. points out, embracing failure fuels progress. Key strategies include conducting ‘pre-mortems’, learning from common mistakes, and building resilience to turn mistakes into stepping stones for success By embracing failure, leaders not only build smart and adaptable teams but also set the stage for future achievements. 🚀 Read more here: https://lnkd.in/eg3A2thQ Leaders, how do you promote a culture of learning from failure within your teams? 🤔 #Leadership #GrowthMindset #Resilience

The M7100 Analyzer is the only test set featuring two dual-function high-voltage leads for source and measurement—both capabilities are within each HV lead. This improves safety and efficiency. Compared to a single-lead system, this patented design dramatically improves technician safety by reducing ladder trips by as much as two-thirds and simplifying lead placement. The M7100 automates multiple high-voltage tests, previously performed by several pieces of equipment, cutting down testing time from seven hours to one and a half hours. Reduced testing time means technicians can safely perform more commissioning, scheduled maintenance and diagnostic activities. 📺 Watch the Video https://lnkd.in/dZGU39vu #DobleTested #highvoltage #highvoltageassets #highvoltagetesting #utilities #dataanalysis #powertransformers #circuitbreakers #HVcables #instrumenttransformers

This week we focus on the achievements of Anthony Fucello II as we continue our series of “Meet the Expert” profiles which showcase many of Doble Engineering's leading lights and exceptional talent from around the globe. Anthony started his working career in the mining industry as a coal miner at the Cumberland and Emerald Mine Complexes in Southwestern Pennsylvania serving in various roles supporting surface and underground mining operations. During this time, he was directly responsible for the underground communication and tracking and mine telemetry systems. He also assisted the Mine Electrician with the maintenance of Surface Ventilation Fans (Diesel & Electric), Elevators, Substation, and Mine Power Distribution (Surface and Underground). His focus was on state and federal laws and the National Electric Code with the ultimate goal of becoming a Mine Electrician. Anthony holds bachelor’s degrees in computer and electrical engineering from West Virginia University. During his time there he assisted with research in "Soldering Applications in Microgravity" and the "Plasma Gasification of Coal." In the summer of 2017, he studied abroad in Xuzhou, China at China University of Mining & Technology studying underground coal mining and geology. Anthony's expertise is in the AC Dielectric Test Systems used for High Voltage Test Equipment and applications. He is currently an Electrical Design Engineer with Phenix Technologies, a Doble company Technologies, designing high voltage and high current test equipment that is used by a large customer base from all over the world.  He’s also a member of Phenix's newly formed Safety Committee. He’s an active member of the ASTM International F18 Committee, Electrical Protective Equipment for Workers. This membership supports Phenix’s Rubber Goods Test equipment line. This also leverages on his prior experience using this protective equipment during maintenance work performed during his previous career in the mining industry. His passion for education is illustrated by his academic outreach activities with Frostburg State University and West Virginia University. He serves on Frostburg State University's Engineering Advisory Board and is also an invited guest lecturer. Anthony enjoys lifting weights, hiking, playing chess, studying foreign languages and making audiobooks. #DobleTested

Today Doble Engineering's office in Marlborough, was filled with an air of excitement and anticipation. Halloween was upon us, and with it came our annual tradition - the Halloween Potluck Lunch. It was a celebration of our team's camaraderie and creativity. It was also a chance for us to take a break from our work, to share a meal, and to appreciate each other's talents and efforts. P.S.: The potluck lunch was a gastronomic adventure!

Only a few more left in our Doble Engineering's "Meet the Expert" Series and today I'll be focusing on Alessio Felice. Alessio studied Electrical Engineering at the University of Bologna (Alma Mater Studiorum – Università di Bologna) and was awarded an Electrical Engineering Degree with honors. After completing his thesis on electrical characterization of nano-additive insulating materials and partial discharge life tests, he kept working in the specialty of diagnostics on MV and HV electrical systems as a field engineer at Techimp, (now part of Doble). His background of 14+ years of experience in the field of partial discharge (PD) coupled with his broader work in diagnostics of Medium and High Voltage systems, gives Alessio keen insight and in-depth knowledge of PD diagnostics and measurement methods on high voltage insulation systems with a strong focus on MV/HV cable systems and rotating machines. Currently as the Field Service Manager for the ROW area at ISA, a Doble Company, (serving chiefly Italian, Eastern European, Central/South American and Far Eastern markets), Alessio is responsible for growing the existing services business and expanding the service portfolio with a focus on customers' needs while assuring a high level of competence and professionality. He is also a member of the management team and technical board at Techimp. During this period at Techimp he also served as Team Leader for key projects on diagnostic systems and services solutions for electrical assets; collaborated with the technical team to define the Health Index matrix for Power Transformer and HV cables; collaborated with R&D department in developing PD sensors and software for data collection; and acted as the key technical contact for customers and channel partners support. In his free time, he enjoys traveling, cooking, playing football and tennis and, in general, any kind of competitive sport. #Dobletested
