Today, I thought it would be a great idea to discuss getting the most out of your treatments. Regardless of the treatment you get, whether it’s a chiropractic alignment, a pain management treatment, an orthopedic surgery, or a PRP treatment, there are universal things you can do after each and every procedure to help you get the most out of your treatment. We’ve all experienced lower back pain from time to time. It’s normal for most healthy people to experience a bit of lower back pain from tight muscles after leaning forward or after working out. Periodic pain of this nature, according to most doctors, is generally harmless and not a major cause for concern. But of course, this is always measured on a case-by-case basis, and it’s important to gage how to manage your pain based on its level of severity. For this week’s Quick Tip, we spoke with Dr. Derick Lajom, DC of Mendyk Chiropractic in Moreno Valley and Perris. Dr. Lajom told us that he used to see many patients who would come in complaining about back pain. In recent years, patients instead complain about neck pain. The reason why? We spoke with Dr. Nariman Gabay, our chiropractor who works on a lien basis in Encino, California, about the appropriate stretches you should be doing each day to protect your lower back. Dr. Gabay stated that if you think stretching your hamstring and glute muscles are the only way to protect your lower back, you are mistaken! Most people just stretch those muscles and call it a day. However, it’s equally important to stretch the front of your leg, as well, as an additional precaution to protect your lower back. So, you should be doing the following daily stretch. In today’s technically driven times, especially with the younger crowd, you may find yourself getting what Dr. Steven Areta from SoCal Spine Rehab and Wellness Center calls “tech neck syndrome”. Dr. Areta says that this has become a common problem with teens thanks to texting and using mobile devices.
