Our latest audit substantiated an allegation made to the DoD Hotline that a defense contractor overcharged the Air Force for a lavatory soap dispenser used on the C-17, an Air Force cargo aircraft. We found that the Air Force did not always pay reasonable prices for C-17 spare parts, such as the soap dispenser, which was marked up by 7,943 percent or more than 80 times the commercially available cost.
