Our next Ask-Learn-Share session is on Wednesday, November 6th, 7 pm Pacific time. In the last session, we explored the fundamentals of "Dividend Investing," highlighting the importance of considering the total return of an investment rather than focusing solely on the dividend yield. In the upcoming session, we will delve deeper into the topic. As always, our Ask-Learn-Share (ALS) sessions are free and open to all. Reach out to any of our volunteers or email Dollar Mentor for instructions on how to join.

About us
About Us Dollar Mentor is a 501(c)(3) public-benefit nonprofit organization with a goal to encourage and facilitate—for no compensation or economic benefit—investment and financial education to individuals and families through mentoring, presentations, articles, group discussions and other educational forms. Background We, the founders of Dollar Mentor, are not finance professionals. We learnt about investments on our own and realized that it can easily get overwhelming and intimidating. Our own journey could’ve been much simpler and enjoyable if we had a trusted mentor to guide us through this learning process. We started this organization so that it can play the role of such a mentor to those who need it — with no conflict of interest whatsoever. Activities We believe mentoring is the most effective way to learn. We offer 1:1 or group mentoring to help learn about investment and related topics. Additionally, we regularly publish articles, recorded presentations, and podcasts through our website. We have a monthly group discussion that anyone can join virtually to learn and share their knowledge. We do not provide any professional services such as investment advice, money management, tax consultancy and so on. We neither sell nor refer, recommend, or endorse any products or services. We are not affiliated with any third party or external organizations. Price Dollar Mentor doesn’t accept any compensation or receive any economic benefit whatsoever for providing its resources and services. As a 100% volunteer-driven organization, it doesn’t have any affiliate program or receive any commissions / referral fees from any individual or organization. In other words, all its services and resources are absolutely free of cost – no strings attached - and without any room for a conflict of interest.

A piece of good news for those of us who have been keeping an eye on the US consumer price annual inflation rate since it spiked in April 2021 and seemed uncontrollable until its peak in June 2022. Inflation has been declining for a year and it finally broke below the 3% level. The headline CPI numbers published today by the US Bureau of Labor Statistics department show that the overall annual inflation measure (CPI-U) as of July 2024 is 2.9%. While the fight isn't over yet and it may spike again, the trend is certainly in the right direction. Check out the BLS website to review the inflation trend in recent years. Prior to the present inflationary episode, the CPI-U was 3% or above only twice in the past 20 years - Oct 2007 (lasted a year) and April 2011 (lasted 8 months). Sadly, decreasing inflation doesn't mean decreasing prices. The aggregate price levels of goods and services are still much higher compared to just a few years ago. https://lnkd.in/eFegQ9gQ
