Surge in US - Mexico Trade Continues to Surge, Putting Pressure on Mexico's Driver Market According to FreightWaves, in August trade between the U.S. and Mexico grew to $74 billion—up 4% from 2023. Laredo kept the top spot as the main entry point for imports, underscoring the critical importance of truck transportation for cross-border trade. However, signs of driver shortages in Mexico continue to manifest, and this issue is likely to tighten further.
