Michelle Howard, principal at Clear Sky Elementary, was the first in her immediate family to attend college and only the second of 26 cousins to graduate from college. "I spent roughly 12 years in the classroom and this year is the start of year nine in administration. As a school principal, I still love going into classrooms and feeling the energy I receive from interacting with the students!" Read more about Michelle: https://lnkd.in/gZPdNkEk

Did you know there used to be a small town between Parker and Castle Rock called Hilltop? The Hilltop Schoolhouse is the only public building left from the town of Hilltop. Over the years, Hilltop’s residents dispersed and the town that once was faded into Colorado’s history books but the schoolhouse remains as a tribute to some of this area’s earliest settlers. Watch and visit HilltopSocialClub.org to learn more. https://lnkd.in/gHHNCp6b

With a national teacher shortage, Douglas County School District is taking the lead in providing an opportunity for those currently working in DCSD to obtain their teaching license. Through DCSD’s Alternative Licensure Program, those in certified teaching positions can earn a teaching license in any role as a K-12 teacher. Fox Creek Elementary students came back to a fun surprise thanks to Building Engineer, Frank Lugo, and his talented fiancé who teamed up to brighten the school by painting the trash cans! Frank had the idea, and his fiancé brought it to life with her amazing artwork. The first can was ready just in time for the first day of school, and they’re planning to paint them all! 🖌️✨ We love seeing creativity and care come together to make our schools even more welcoming!
