In 2023, Arizona launched its first-ever sport-specific business, technology, and innovation summit—AZ Game Changers, powered by Horizon Strategies and Arizona Chamber of Commerce & Industry. Downtown Phoenix Inc. (DPI) 's President and CEO, Devney Majerle, was a keynote speaker on the Building the Future: Public-Private Partnerships panel. "We are nearly 80% locally owned in our bars and restaurants Downtown. When we think about the summer months, it's the Diamondbacks games and concerts at Chase Field, events at the Footprint Center, and Phoenix Mercury games that keep our small businesses going and contribute to our vibrancy today." This year’s summit brought together a dynamic mix of executives, academics, entrepreneurs, innovators, investors, athletes, and policy leaders to explore emerging tech, sports performance, and industry-adjacent trends, as well as policy priorities aimed at leveraging sports to propel statewide economic growth. Thank you for having us in attendance, Horizon Strategies and AZ Chamber of Commerce & Industry!

Why drive out of Downtown Phoenix when all the health + wellness options you need are here? 📍🏙️ 10+ vendors and small businesses attended the DTPHX Fall Wellness Fair this week to inform, educate, and connect with residents, employees, and other community members about the services they offer. In addition to the pop-ups, the newly opened Yoga Hause provided a complimentary yoga session. Our organization will be hosting bi-annual wellness fairs at CityScape and at Civic Space Park in partnership with Arizona State University. Stay tuned for future event updates!

Sharing Downtown’s story of revolutionary growth and development is a remarkable task, and our organization is fortunate enough to do it often. Last week, Lambda Alpha International (LAI), an honorary group of distinguished professionals in land economics, visited several notable landmarks and establishments in Phoenix, including the FOUND:RE Phoenix Hotel. Downtown Phoenix Inc.'s President and CEO, Devney Majerle, and Co-Chair of Phoenix Community Alliance's Hance Park Fundraising Committee and Principal at Habitat Metro, Tim Sprague, welcomed the group to Downtown with a little bit of DTPHX history, some inspiring projects that have come to fruition over time, organizational knowledge, and what's to come for the continued revitalization of Downtown.

Downtown Phoenix wouldn't be what it is today without the perpetual support and collaboration from our surrounding neighborhoods, like Central City South. Last night, our President and CEO, Devney Preuss Majerle, was presented with the Community Hero Award by Eva Olivas, a great friend and DPI board member who is the driving force behind Phoenix Revitalization Corporation. Eva and Devney have worked together over the years through Downtown Phoenix Inc. and Phoenix Community Alliance to advocate for housing affordability, essential sustainability measures for the community, and striving for a Downtown that's truly for everybody. Congratulations to Devney, and thanks to Eva and the Central City South community for being such incredible partners. We can always go further together. #DTPHX
