Friendly Reminder: Sycophantic workplace culture is incompatible with Inclusion and Belonging. By forcing others to engage in obsequious behavior to gain favor in the eyes of others, this creates opportunities for channeling bias, normalizing exclusion, centering conformity. There aren't too many connections made with sycophancy to DEI, and yet, it is a fundamental issue that must be spotlighted. Sycophancy culture can be measured through likert scale survey by measuring endorsements in the belief of engaging in favorable behaviors for the purpose of advancement in the workplace.
