Towards #G7 Health, ‘Coeliac disease: a chameleon waiting to be discovered’. This year, Italy has the honour of hosting the institutional meeting of the G7 Health Ministers, a great opportunity to put health at the centre of institutional and public debate. The identification of policies aimed at fostering lifelong prevention, coupled with information and awareness initiatives, are powerful weapons to promote a One Health approach and reduce the diagnostic gaps that still exist for many conditions, including coeliac disease. In fact, in Italy alone, it is estimated that only 40% of those with coeliac disease are diagnosed (data from the Italian National Institute of Health). Despite the progress made in this regard and the launch of a paediatric screening pilot project in Italy, there is still a significant delay in diagnosis. One reason for this is the clinical presentation of the disease, which often manifests itself with extra-intestinal symptoms. It is a disease with a chameleon-like nature that needs to continue to be discussed in order to accelerate the diagnostic pathway, uncover the coeliac #iceberg, facilitate access to therapy - the gluten-free diet - and improve people’s quality of life. These were the topics addressed during the conference ‘Coeliac disease: a chameleon waiting to be discovered’, which brought together some of the most important experts in the field of gluten-related disorders over the past few days in Ancona (Marche - Italy). #DrSchaer #G7Health #Coeliacdisease

Within each dream lies a piece of ourselves, an intimacy that only the night can uncover. The intimacy of sleep is precisely what lies at the heart of #Dreamers, the photography exhibition organised by the Anton Schär Foundation which further showcases its dedication to supporting local art. During the unforgettable inauguration on 24 September at our headquarters in Postal, we were captivated by author Karin #Schmuck as she shared her artistic evolution in dialogue with Nicola #Morandini, vice-president of the 00A association. Alongside them, psychiatrist Giorgio #Vallazza delved into the world of sleep and dreams. This profound experience encouraged all our employees to embark on a journey into their emotional depths, revealing the warmth and authenticity of their true selves. A heartfelt thank you to the 00A Gallery association and our local partner #Mairania 857 for supporting this meaningful initiative. #DrSchaer Giorgio Vallazza, Gudrun Ladurner, Esther Ausserhofer, Veronika Wieser, Stefania Borin, Jacqueline Pante, Stefania Cosimi, Victoria Angerer

#Intuition: deception or compass? The 16th Global Forum Südtirol 2024, an event rich in reflections and ideas, took place around this fascinating question, and our founder and president, Ulrich Ladurner, participated last week. "When I think of intuition, one word comes to mind: calm. Only when we are in a state of deep relaxation can intuition surface, giving us focus and, ultimately, solutions." – Ulrich Ladurner. In his opinion, there is no room for uncertainty: intuition has been a precious compass that, in the 1980s, when coeliac disease was still largely unknown, led him to understand the need for gluten-free nutrition. Driven by a deep desire to restore a sense of normality to those affected, with intuition and vision, he charted the path that would lead Dr. Schär to extraordinary success and improve people's lives. #drschaer #compass

On 6 September, we held the first Dr. Schär #Sustainability #Day at our headquarters in Postal, showcasing our deep-rooted dedication to sustainability, which is at the core of our business. The event took place over four floors, each focusing on one of the #pillars of the corporate sustainability #strategy, with presentations and interactive workshops. Our employees had the opportunity to take a close look at the Sustainability #Report we launched in 2023, and learn about our four key areas: • 🌾 Biodiversity & Sustainable Farming • 👩👩👧👦 Diversity & Inclusion • 🌍 CO2 Footprint • ♻ Sustainable Packaging It was inspiring to witness our colleagues’ enthusiastic participation and genuine interest as they embraced our shared mission. Together, we’re not just envisioning a greener future—we’re actively building it. #DrSchaer #seedingabetterworld #sustainability Thank you for bringing this event to life Hansjorg Prast, Yvonne Wieser, Nicole Mattei, Mara Brida, Alexander Mayr, Guarise Daniele; Luca Zenorini, Ivan Perini, Greta Pichler, Alexandra Perissinotto, Natalie Holzner, Lisa Schwarz, Valentina Thurner, Vittoria Menestrina; Dr.-Ing. From 5-7 September, international experts will gather at the 20th #ICDS for the panel “Evolution of the Gluten-Free Diet: Enhancing Nutritional Quality and Achievability for Improved Quality of Life.” Nick #Trott, key opinion leader and dietitian at Sheffield Teaching Hospital, will hold a lecture and share crucial insights on the current situation in the UK: • On average, it takes 13 years to diagnose coeliac disease • 1 in 100 people are affected, with over half a million still undiagnosed • Adherence to a gluten-free diet, the sole treatment, varies widely between 40% and 90% The barriers? Lack of awareness of common symptoms and misinformation about the gluten-free diet, today still a ‘victim’ of stigma, which may contribute to low adherence to treatment. At Dr. Schär, a consistent gluten-free diet can improve quality of life. By dispelling myths and improving adherence, we’re committed to helping individuals lead healthier and more fulfilling lives. #20ICDS #glutenfreediet #DrSchaer
