Last night was Drivemode's FIRST IN-PERSON MEETUP in the Bay Area!  This is our first major gathering, and we couldn’t have done it without  Lexi Lewtan (Team Leopard), our hiring partner at Leopard.FYI, who graciously co-hosted with us in Mountain View. It was amazing to meet so many Leopard and Drivemode members connecting in person. With many tech meetups still on pause post-COVID, we’re thankful for the chance to bring people together and for Leopard's support in helping women and non-binary folks advance in tech. Lastly, remember: if you’re job searching, you’re NOT ALONE. Please take a look at our job site when you have a moment: https://lnkd.in/gWBK57-Z

Founder/CEO at Leopard.FYI: connecting women & non-binary engineers to inclusive workplaces

Last night was Leopard.FYI's first IN-PERSON MEETUP in the South Bay 💜 We’ve had a few small dinners and happy hours here and there in SF, but this was our first bigger gathering for new and prospective members to meet up in the Bay Area (!). We couldn’t have done it without Jacob Chavarria our hiring partner at Drivemode, who graciously hosted us in Mountain View. It was amazing to meet so many Leopard.FYI members in person—some who’ve been part of our Slack community for years, and others who are just joining us now. With many tech meetups still on pause post-COVID, we’re thankful for the chance to bring people together and for Drivemode’s support in helping women and non-binary folks advance in tech. Lastly, a reminder if you’re job searching, figuring out your path or just going through it: you are NOT ALONE. Lean on your community, we're here 👋

[Hiring] Red Dot Design Award for Honda 0 Series, it’s brand triplet of “Thin, Light, Wise” will permeate every aspect of EV vehicle design at Honda. These three carefully chosen words really resonate for me. Sleek with superior range, rather than opting for the over-used “smart” moniker, every choice made in their design, construction, and assembly, will be a “wise” one. And from a digital experience point of view, they will also be “wise”. Calling them just smart falls short. Wisdom only comes from experience earned over time. Honda has a deep well of wisdom from which to draw from. Side note: we are hiring software engineers and architects in our Tokyo office. Unique opportunity giving you a Silicon Valley culture in the heart of Tokyo. Bilingual Japanese / English a huge plus. Mobile, SDV, Cloud. DM me if interested and I will connect you with our recruiters.

We had an awesome time at our summer BBQ in Tokyo! Jeff, our COO kicked things off by serving surprise Guacamole in the office cafeteria, proving he's the ultimate team player and our go-to guac master for anything whatever we need. Thank you, Jeff, you are the lifeline of Drivemode's cultural craziness! Let’s keep it fun and weird in the best possible Drivemode way. After that, we headed outside for more fun and tasty food. One of the coolest parts, as always, was cutting neckties for our new hires—a fun tradition that shows we’re all about breaking free from the usual work norms and embracing creativity and openness.

Leaving behind the fond memories of our time at Drivemode Ebisu office, we're excited to share news of our relocation to Shinagawa district, Tennozu Isle. Nestled along the serene waters of Tokyo Bay, Tennozu Isle embodies a harmonious blend of urban sophistication and natural tranquility. Boasting picturesque waterfront views and a dynamic cultural landscape, this vibrant district serves as an ideal setting for innovation and creativity to thrive. As the Drivemode team has grown and our projects have expanded, we recognized the necessity for a larger space to accommodate our evolving requirements. As a software development company specializing in connected car technology, our engineers engage in extensive research and development, often requiring access to hardware and actual vehicles for testing and analytics. At our previous location, we maintained a separate lab facility, resulting in logistical challenges. At our new location, we've seamlessly integrated our research and development endeavors under one roof, fostering collaboration and efficiency. Gone are the days of navigating separate facilities; now, our engineers revel in the convenience of having our state-of-the-art lab facilities just steps away from their workstations. The newly crafted workspace exudes elegance, featuring expansive meeting rooms adorned with contemporary aesthetics, fostering an environment conducive to collaboration and innovation. Modern amenities, including a café space reminiscent of a lively restaurant, add a touch of vibrancy to the atmosphere. Equipped to accommodate large gatherings, the conference room stands as a beacon of functionality and sophistication. As we embark on this new chapter of our journey, our teams are eagerly anticipating the opportunity to create, test, and refine exceptional products.

At Drivemode, Language is No Barrier to Brilliance! Most of Japanese engineering professionals possess adequate English skills for work collaboration yet concerns about fluency often lead to hesitation when applying for positions abroad or at English-speaking companies. We’re rewriting the script on what an English-speaking tech company looks like.  At Drivemode, communication transcends language barriers. Not everyone here is an English guru, and that’s the beauty of it. We’re a melting pot of ethnicities, cultural backgrounds, and language skills, and we wouldn’t have it any other way. It’s not about being fluent in English; it’s about being yourself and bringing your A-game to the tech playground. Picture yourself working alongside people from various backgrounds and age groups, where the atmosphere is not just professional but also friendly and inclusive. Imagine how you would enjoy the camaraderie of genuinely good-natured individuals selected from around the world not because of which country’s passport they have but because of the excellence they achieved in their specific field and the values they hold. We believe that diversity isn’t just about where you’re from and what language you speak; it’s also about the perspectives you bring to the table. Want to shape the future of mobility experience together? Let’s have a friendly chat!
