We salute this and we share the worry. Our project is also striving to support these regions to stop declining and strive. We recognised the need to boost remote employment opportunities from Western Balkans through vocational education
Our region has a serious problem! Among the fastest dying countries in Europe we find Serbia 🇷🇸 Croatia 🇭🇷 and Bosnia & Herzegovina 🇧🇦. Over the past decade Croatia has lost 770,000 people. Lack of affordable housing for young couples and insufficient job opportunities are resulting in low birth rates and high emigration numbers.😔 In 2023, for the first time in 15 years we have seen more people arrive in Croatia than leave, mostly due to the high number of immigrants from Nepal. 🙃 It has been predicted that B&H will see a further decline of its population by another 49.4% until the year 2100 - making it the most depopulated country in Europe. At the moment, this country loses 1.5% of its population per year. 😱 In Serbia and Bosnia & Herzegovina we also see that some 25% of all deaths are due to tobacco. A shocking 30.5% of women and 45.1% of men in B&H are smoking 🚬. Below you will see the entire top 10 of fastest dying countries in Europe. I've put the population decline in last decade behind each country: 👇🏻👇🏻👇🏻 1️⃣ Serbia -27% 2️⃣ Albania -21% 3️⃣ Latvia -20% 4️⃣ Ukraine -18.2% 5️⃣ Lithuania -17.5% 6️⃣ Croatia -17% 7️⃣ Bosnia & Herzegovina -15% 8️⃣ Moldova -14.6% 9️⃣ Romania -13.3% 🔟 Bulgaria -10.3% Numbers don't lie. Preparing our country for the next generations should be our first priority. Without further delay, we need: 👉🏻 Strong private sector to boost economy, creating great job opportunities. 👉🏻 Affordable housing and initiatives to support young couples to buy homes, so they can start families of their own. So, when people ask me...Jan, what's the kind of business you are in...I will answer: I'm in the business of helping prepare Croatia for the next generation, starting beautiful businesses and creating exciting job opportunities...so that my children, or your children don't have to move abroad to find happiness and opportunities. So they can find all that in Croatia. ❤️ Pozdrav iz Splita, Jan de Jong Ps. As a father of 4 kids I've done my part to help repopulate Croatia - but I can't do it alone 😜 #Croatia #Entrepreneurship #LivingTheCroatianDream #MakingCroatiaGrowAgain
