About us
Drut Technologies is an early-stage company developing a system to provide software defined resources on demand for the data center. Our data center resource pooling architecture will be compelling to customers who deploy infrastructure with increasing memory, GPU, storage and co-processor density requirements. The legacy data center deployment model is costly, constrained, lacks agility and fidelity of resource pools. Break free from the physical limitations and siloed nature of the existing server deployment model. Drut is pioneering an architecture to photonically connect data center resources using a software defined fabric. We think of it as a better method to organize the most important data center resources.

What an incredible time we had at India Mobile Congress 2024! Drut Technologies Inc, in collaboration with IKTARA Data Sciences, had the opportunity to engage with a global audience of industry experts, R&D leaders, data center operators, system integrators, and telecom equipment manufacturers. The event saw international delegates from various sectors including Member States, standardization bodies, academia, and start-ups. This year’s theme, "Future is Now", truly captured the spirit of innovation and the rapid advancements in AI . The enthusiasm for cutting-edge AI solutions and next-gen data center technologies was inspiring, highlighting the industry's focus on progress and transformation. We were excited to showcase Drut’s unique solution—virtual disaggregation of GPU servers—which attracted significant interest. One of the key highlights was the introduction of our AI/ML Workbench, optimized for running AI/ML workloads on flexible GPU configurations using vPOD machines. Preloaded with models for RAG, fine-tuning, and computer vision, it offers seamless workload management with real-time dashboards, intuitive workflows, and custom workload features. A big shoutout to Manoj Devender, who leads our AI/ML Workbench development, and Anmol Pansari, Senior Engineer on the Fabric Manager team, for representing us at IMC 2024! 👏 🙌 We’re excited about the future of AI and data center innovations and look forward to continuing these conversations. #IMC2024 #FutureIsNow #AI #Innovation #DataCenters #AIworkbench #DrutTechnologies #DigitalTransformation #VirtualDisaggregation #NextGenTech

The Drut office is undergoing its final metamorphosis, shedding its cocoon of startup chaos for the butterfly-like splendor of actual room. Gone will be the days of our intimate little tech nest, where tripping over cables was considered cardio and the constant whir of exposed hardware served as our white noise machine. We bid farewell to the exhilarating game of musical desks where finding an open seat felt like winning the lottery. At long last, we are stretching our wings and migrating to a more spacious habitat. It is the end of an era – we are officially graduating from "charmingly cramped" to "professionally roomy." We just hope we do not get lost in all this newfound space! Looking forward to installing the racks and filling the new lab space.

DX 3.0 write-up from Ethan Banks!
BRIEFING REPORT: Drut’s DX3.0 Maximizes GPU Hardware Utilization For AI Workloads The folks at Drut Technologies Inc (pronounced “droot”) have created an AI compute environment for the rest of us. Who’s the rest of us? Anyone that’s doing AI-related work–training models for generative AI applications, for instance–but isn’t doing so with hundreds of billions or trillions of tokens. This matters because most of the noise around the challenges of AI data centers is related to problems that hyperscalers have…but probably not your company. For AI computation, hyperscalers are running massive networks with many thousands of nodes feeding data from a storage network on the frontend to a GPU network on the backend. The GPU network is working on distributed math problems–problems that are broken into interdependent chunks, each chunk fed to a GPU in a cluster. If a chunk of the distributed math problem doesn’t make it to its assigned GPU due to network latency or packet loss, the entire GPU cluster is idled. And no one wants that. - GPUs are expensive resources that shouldn’t sit around idle. - The training process in the case of very large models takes weeks and even months, and infrastructure efficiencies compound over that span of time. For most AI compute networks, the preceding problem isn’t the same scale of concern as it is to hyperscalers. The average enterprise isn’t working with models that large or GPU clusters that big. In fact, the opposite is a more likely situation. An enterprise might have big iron servers loaded with GPUs, but doesn’t have AI compute jobs big enough to merit tying up an entire server while the job runs. Or maybe they do have meaningfully large AI compute jobs, but only from time to time. In that case, maybe they wish they could easily spread the work over more than one server. The problem is less about maximizing GPU utilization, and more about flexibly allocating GPUs and other hardware. This is where Drut comes in. With their DX3.0 software release, Drut allows you to bring together hardware from different chassis’ into what they call a vPOD. A vPOD is defined as “some number of CPU slices, some number of memory slices, some number of OS slices, some number of GPUs, and some number of NICs.” With this architecture, you’re free to create an AI compute node out of whatever elements are available. Drut takes care of all of this with the DX 3.0 system, a combination of Linux, KVM, Drut’s Software Platform and Fabric Manager, and AI/ML Workbench. DX3.0 is virtual disaggregation that allows for flexible allocation of expensive hardware. This LI post is an abbreviated version of a more detailed post at PacketPushers.net.
