Providing age-appropriate online experiences is a key component of digital #trustandsafety. But each service’s uses differ, as do the expectations of its users, accordingly approaches to age assurance vary across services. A new DTSP report advances understanding of technical approaches to #ageassurance. It describes a range of best practices – specifically, five guiding principles for age assurance and three dozen examples of best practices in line with those principles. As required by European Union’s Digital Services Act, mandatory risk assessments are being conducted with questions arising about how to identify systemic risks. DTSP’s David Sullivan, GNI’s Jason Pielemeier and ARTICLE 19's Chantal Joris joined Tech Policy Press’ podcast for an insightful conversation on risk assessments and the “European Rights & Risk: Stakeholder Engagement Forum” held back in June. https://lnkd.in/eqf55J99

🚨 Best Practices for AI and Automation in Trust and Safety 🚨 I'm thrilled to present the latest report from the Digital Trust and Safety Partnership. #AI and #automation, deployed with human review and oversight, is fundamental to #trustandsafety, allowing companies to detect, enforce and review content and conduct at scale. Although automated tools have been part of trust and safety from the very beginning, AI advances are allowing companies to do more, with greater accuracy, to counter online abuse. This report was the product of 9 months of work by DTSP's AI and Automation working group, facilitated by the tech and human rights team at BSR (thanks to Hannah Darnton, Lindsey Andersen, Faraz Ansari and Orissa Rose). Please give it a read and let us know what you think!
