From insightful conferences to engaging workshops, our week was a whirlwind of learning and networking! 🙌 Let's uncover the standout moments together from our #WeeklyEvents. ➡️ It was the final Pitch Pit competition for 2024 for Corey Elkins and the New Enterprise Forum monthly event last night at Ann Arbor SPARK. Congratulations to four entrepreneurs for bravely taking the stage and sharing with all of us in the audience their startup stories in our NEF Pitch Pit competition. They were Noah Barr with Streetmeet; Anthony Bird with Culturebie; Jeff Dwoskin with Stampede Social; and Dan Katanski with NanoFree Technologies. Special kudos to Jeff for winning the competition; his prize will be a NEF Startup Investment Readiness Assessment (SIRA). Thank you to our three wonderful judges for providing insightful feedback, counsel and encouraging words to each of the pitch pit participants. The judges were: Jacquelene Barnes, Capital Growth Program Manager at TechTown Detroit; Ben Chutz, Growth Partner at Impact Initiatives; and Christopher Hart, Co-Founder and CEO at gBeat. Congratulations also go to Josef Hjelmaker, Founder and CEO of Electric Outdoors, on his success in the year after his NEF showcase presentation in closing a $1.3M seed round for the company. Thank you for allowing NEF to have been a small part of what you have accomplished. ➡️ Rhonda Levy attended DC Startup & Tech Week (Formerly DC Startup Week), DMV’s largest startup & tech conference. The panel discussion was around women empowerment, IT trends that will continue to make an impact in 2025, and how to lean on mentorship to navigate the current IT market. Thanks to the amazing panelists who shared their insights with the group. ➡️ Michelle also joined the Women's Technology Alliance of Charlotte this week for their Fall Executive Brunch panel at the Cedarwood Country Club. Panelists Edith Brown, Jaimee Robles, Carl Cahill and Karlene Gomes shared a candid Discussion Around Unconscious Bias. Fantastic content shared by the panelists with many takeaways for the audience to incorporate into their hiring practices. #DualbootPartners #SoftwareDevelopment #Community

Cheers to the weekend! ✨ Let's kick it off with a recap of the exciting events and connections we've made this week. #WeeklyEvents ➡️ Mike Dennis had the opportunity to join the exclusive Generative AI World conference in Boston last week: https://lnkd.in/dXCwAs7G   The conference was a deep dive into the latest AI trends and ground-breaking insights from Harvard Business School, and MIT's leading experts. C-Suite executives from firms including NVIDIA, Honeywell, Cigna, UBS and several others described how they deploying AI solutions to transform their businesses. Featured also were a number of AI startups that are harnessing the latest technology to bring game changing solutions to market. Congratulations to GAI Insights for putting on an excellent conference. ➡️ David Olson and Todd Buelow had a great time being a judge for Coastal Carolina University's Wall Fellows Event. It was amazing to see the work these future student entrepreneurs put in to pitch their business concepts. Thank you Eileen Soisson for bring the students up to Charlotte to see our fast growing entrepreneurial community. Also, it was great sitting on a judge panel with Greg Brown, Sam DiFiore, and Logan Nerad and as usual Tabbris for hosting the event. Good luck to the students as the head to London and Iceland for their pitches. ➡️ Todd Buelow attended the Charlotte Sports Foundation quarterly event featuring Charlotte Hornets New Team President Shelly Cayette-Wilson talking about the upcoming season. Shelly just moved to Charlotte after an amazing run with the Cleveland Cavaliers. The Charlotte Sports Foundation is the group behind a lot of awesome things happening in the Charlotte sports market including the Duke Mayo Bowl, Jumpman Classic, Savannah Bananas, and much more. Kudos to Danny Morrison, Will Pitts, Will Lawson, Hannah Butler and team for all they are doing. #DualbootPartners #SoftwareDevelopment #Community

Let's revisit the highlights of our #WeeklyEvents - Part 1. ➡️ Michelle Coviello attended an Executive Panel event at the Quail Hollow Club sponsored by GuidePoint Security. Austin Adams and Jim Ditmore discussed how they both prepped Jamie Dimon's (BankOne) IT environment for the largest bank merger in US history. Fascinating discussion and well attended event by CIO and CISO executives in Charlotte. ➡️ Michelle also attended the Apparo - Business and Tech Solutions for Nonprofits CXO Tech Insights panel "CIOs Taking Center Stage as Partners to the CEO Vision". The panel was moderated by Nelson de la Cruz and included Mike Laurenti, Ahold Delhaize, Ames Flynn, Weisiger Group and Rob Bence Tepper Sports & Entertainment. The panel discussed what is the CIOs role in strategy and revenue targets and how has the CIO been critical to new business launches. ➡️ ConvergeSouth Conference was a huge success! It’s such a great event that brings investors from all over the country to meet with regional and local founders that are on the cusp of huge growth. The event included a variety of action: expo hall full of 60+ founders, multiple pitch competitions, smart workshops, happy hours, and of course the world renowned, Joey Cheek (Olympic Champion and ecosystem builder) and Wade Minter (tech expert, Dualboot genius and voice of the Hurricanes), as the keynote speakers!
