About us
About WestBridge is a family-founded non-profit organization established in 2001, supporting the recovery of adults and their families experiencing mental illness with or without substance use. We are dedicated to evidence-based practices and integrating families, helping them to learn, communicate and become trusting partners in recovery. Services Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) for All Genders Services are offered in an office setting to adults who can benefit from more support than traditional outpatient counseling can provide, yet do not need the intensity of a partial hospital, residential or inpatient program. Men’s Community Integration Program (CIP) Community based services and frequency are individually tailored to the participant’s needs with the potential to receive over 30 hours each week of comprehensive wraparound services provided in a combination of the community, participant’s home, and the office. Men’s Residential Treatment Program Dually licensed by the State of New Hampshire for both mental health and substance use disorder treatment, CARF accredited and staffed 24/7/365. Programming is offered in a residential setting and the community. Men’s Extension of Services Program Certain CIP services are available a la carte to men who have completed WestBridge’s residential program or CIP when clinically indicated. Men’s Alumni Program Alumni services are available to men who have completed either WestBridge’s residential or CIP program. Outcomes Our independently verified treatment outcomes for men with co-occurring disorders are published in a peer-reviewed professional journal. Location Manchester, NH. 15 minutes from Manchester Regional Airport. Approximately 1 hour from Boston, MA. Hygiene Indifference: The Symptom We Don’t Talk About, by Ivory Smith. Hygiene is one of the many symptoms that is frequently left out of the mental health conversation. This is largely because the subject is difficult to talk about — many of us feel the weight of stigma when talking about our bodies and our personal habits. However, indifference to hygiene tasks, including showering, brushing teeth, doing laundry or brushing hair, is a common symptom of mental health conditions (particularly depression)." WestBridge’s IOP (Intensive Outpatient Program) provides virtual and in-person therapeutic services to individuals of all genders experiencing symptoms of thought disorders, mood disorders, and anxiety disorders with or without co-occurring substance use at a minimum of three days per week. Available services include group therapy, case management, individual therapy, family support, and psychiatric consultation as appropriate. The IOP provides approximately 3 hours per day of treatment leaving participants free to manage other commitments at work, school or home in the remaining hours. What does my loved one’s schizophrenia or bipolar disorder diagnosis mean? A diagnosis of schizophrenia spectrum disorder means that someone has been experiencing a thought disorder with a certain set of symptoms, such as hearing, seeing, or believing things that others do not, over a certain period. Bipolar disorder is a mood disorder and includes symptoms such as periods of depression alternating with mania (perhaps racing thoughts and intense goal-directed activity). A diagnosis does not define who you are yet reflects an illness that can be treated. While there are a number of residential treatment programs that accept individuals with these diagnoses, not all specialize in working with schizophrenia or bipolar disorder, particularly when combined with substance use. Thought and mood disorders along with some other serious mental illnesses have been a specialty treatment area at WestBridge since our founding in 2001. What does it mean to have a Dual Diagnosis, and why is Specialized Treatment Important? Dual diagnosis, or co-occurring disorders are often used interchangeably in the behavioral health field when referring to someone experiencing a mental health disorder AND a substance use disorder. With this knowledge, and if you or a loved one experience both, it is important to find a program that focuses on both conditions, not a substance use program that can “handle mental health,” or a mental health program that can work with someone that has been “sober for a certain amount of days”. WestBridge treats adults experiencing dual diagnosis, or co-occurring disorders, and those with mental health specific needs.
