In 2015, a law requiring companies to state the origin of their meat was repealed. Now, meat follows the same loose labeling rules as other overseas products. When you buy a table made in China, it’s legally required to have a "Made in China" sticker. Meat, however, is different. Since the 2015 repeal, cattle can spend two years in Brazil, be shipped across the ocean, spend just one day in the USA for processing, and still be labeled "Product of the USA."
