The heart of Duke University. Three divisions. World-class faculty. A transformational experience for every student.
About us
Our three academic divisions – the Arts & Humanities, Natural Sciences and Social Sciences – offer a robust and contemporary liberal arts education in a world-class research environment. That setting enables us to provide a transformational experience for every student, and offers a stimulating and rewarding community for faculty and staff. The college serves 80 percent of the Duke University’s undergraduate population as well as hundreds of graduate students in a wide array of master’s degree and PhD programs. Our inherently interdisciplinary culture means our faculty and students regularly collaborate with and study alongside their peers in the Pratt School of Engineering, the School of Medicine, the Sanford School of Public Policy, the Nicholas School of the Environment, and more.

The Duke Community is still reeling from the devastation caused by Hurricane Helene across our state. In this heartfelt tribute, Duke University Chorale performs "The Road Home" by Stephen Paulus in honor of the colleges and universities of western North Carolina. After watching the ongoing disaster unfold, the Duke Chorale sends this song to all of those impacted by tragic events across the region, including the sibling singers in the schools of Western North Carolina. Directed by Allan Friedman and accompanied by Mary Hamilton, this performance is meant to provide comfort and strength on the road to recovery and rebuilding. Please consider joining one of the many Duke relief efforts: https://lnkd.in/eacz_zZH

Senior Alejandra Gonzalez-Acosta dabbled in a bit of everything growing up, from singing and dancing to acting and drawing. With seven theater productions and seven semesters of art classes under her belt, Gonzalez-Acosta wanted to bring those interests with her to Duke. The Psychology major feels she’s achieved the goal twofold through a Visual Arts minor and her involvement with the student-run theater group Hoof 'n' Horn.
