About us
We train and connect dogs with people to cultivate positive change in individuals, families, and communities. Duo is a not-for-profit organization providing highly skilled service dogs to individuals with disabilities and uniquely trained therapy teams in the community, offering dignity, hope, and independence to those we serve. Today, Duo opens the doors to independence by providing assistance dogs to individuals with disabilities, therapy dog services to at-risk and ill populations, and reading assistance to area students. Duo is a fixture in the St. Louis community for many and we are proud to be able to serve those we do, changing lives each and every day.

Thank you to all of our current, past, and future Volunteer Puppy Raisers who attended our Capes + Cocktails event. It was a wonderful evening to reconnect and recognize this group of volunteers. Community Relations Manager, Erin Manning, and Chief Canine Officer, Crissy Smith, did a wonderful job with the execution of the event!

Duo Dog Tigger went on his final outing with his Volunteer Puppy Raisers to a St. Louis CITY SC game. Soon Tigger will enter Advanced Training at Duo to help him determine his future career path. Tigger is the seventh dog his VPRs have raised, including two Facility dogs, a PTSD Assistance Dog, and a Touch Therapy Dog.

Did you know that as a way to promote employee wellness our Touch Therapy Teams visit World Wide Technology once a month? Through our corporate partnership, our teams visit with employees needing some time to de-stress with a dog.

Recently Saint Louis University women's field hockey team experienced a traumatic event during an out-of-town game. Once they returned to Saint Louis, our Duo Response Dogs visited the team before their first practice to help ease nerves about returning to the field. Their coach reported after the visit that it was the perfect icebreaker for the team and created an environment of comfort, bringing out many smiles, which hadn’t been seen in a few days.
