As the DuPont Latin Network (DLN) executive sponsor, I’m thrilled to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month (HHM) by sharing photos I took during a recent trip to Peru where my oldest daughter was spending 6 weeks as part of a university study abroad program. We had an incredible visit, staying in Cusco where we were able to explore Machu Pichu and experience the rich culture, including plenty of good food and music. Her travels abroad continue as she leaves for an 18-month missionary experience to Argentina.
Latin America has been a special place to me since my own 2-year mission trip to Chile as a young adult. Through my transformative immersion in another culture, I was not only able to appreciate and embrace our differences, but also discover the shared values that unite us, such as a deep-seated dedication to faith, family, and community. I’m thrilled that my daughter has the same opportunity to gain a broader perspective and make an impact in the communities where she serves. I couldn’t be prouder of her.
Yesterday I was able to celebrate HHM with the DLN who hosted a hybrid celebration for DuPont employees. It was a wonderful event that included food, history, and a “Pioneers of Change” panel led by Tamara Martinez-Rabell with colleagues including myself, Phillippe Devieux, Kenneth Hernandez-Burgos, Ph.D., Neville Drysdale, and Kimberly Markiewicz. Thank you to the DLN for hosting not only this event, but events throughout the entire year that advance diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace. #DuPont #HHM
