Steel moment frames with superior earthquake resilience.
About us
DuraFuse Frames are steel moment frames that offer up-front savings and superior earthquake resilience. Up-front savings are possible because of simple fabrication, field-bolted erection, and reduced connection and column weights. Greater resilience is achieved by moving yielding out of the beam and into in a bolted bottom flange plate that can be replaced.

DuraFuse Frames is excited to attend and exhibit at the NCSEA Structural Engineering Summit November 5-8, 2024. Come see us at Booth 605 and learn more about how our moment connections make the lightest steel frames that are simple to fabricate and erect rapidly. We look forward to connecting and learning together about the latest and greatest in Structural Engineering.

Excited to join Structural Engineers from California and the Pacific Northwest to learn about the latest and greatest in the field. We look forward to connecting with old friends and making new connections. Especially intrigued to see the massive mass timber roof at PDX when we fly in! Hope to see you there.

Just finished a wonderful visit to SLC today and got to visit a spectacular 8 story DuraFuse building: Spencer F Eccles School of Medicine building. SO AMAZING!!! 1) No Beam protected zone - zoom in and look at the freedom the design team had to connect anywhere. 2) No seismic lateral bracing - huge benefit (because there where hundreds of less pieces to erect) for the erection team in their ability to meet the topping out schedule even with multiple lost days due to wind and bad weather. 3) No need demolish this one after a major earthquake, just simply replace the bottom fuse plate - a truly resilient design, that is ahead of its time here in the USA, but really catching on fast!!!
