It's a MYTH that perpetrators are violent in all their relationships! The fact is, persons who cause harm can be caring, charismatic, and charming in other relationships. Many hide their harmful actions behind a good reputation, making it harder for victims to be believed. What sets them apart is their choice to seek power and control over someone else. Make sure you reach out to those you are concerned about!

No one is superhuman! Trust me, we at DVPN know the importance of self-care. 💜 While it’s important to educate yourself & others, it’s also important to recognize when you need to take a step back for a moment. If you’re anything like us, you can’t always give 100% – and that’s perfectly normal! When this work is too much & you start to feel burnt-out, please take the time & space to check in on yourself and rest. Then you can get back to advocating with even more fervor! #DVAM2024
