Dwyer Workforce Development and Kansas WorkforceONE to Partner on Innovative Initiative! We’re thrilled to be partnering with Kansas WorkforceONE Inc. to launch a workforce development program addressing the growing shortage of elder care workers—starting in Douglas County, KS, and expanding into 16 more counties! This initiative comes as a direct result of Justice Matters’ 2021 Community Problems Assembly, which identified a critical shortage of qualified healthcare professionals for seniors in Northeast Kansas. After extensive research, they chose DWD to be a part of the solution because of our proven model of training and placing individuals facing employment barriers into meaningful healthcare careers. On February 27, our CEO Barb Clapp, COO Maria Darby, and Director of Communications Karen Evander joined the Justice Matters and Kansas WorkforceONE teams, as well as Douglas County Commissioner Patrick Kelly, in Kansas to announce this exciting new chapter! 🔗 Read more: https://bit.ly/4i4bkXI #ElderCare #Kansas #DouglasCounty #DwyerWorkforceDevelopment #CaregiverSupport

We're honoring women in healthcare! Yesterday, our Baltimore Resource Center hosted an incredible panel event, Her Hands Heal: Honoring Women in Healthcare. Led by our Resource Center Program Coordinator Raniya Holmes, the panel consisted of 4 amazing women in healthcare: Caprice Warren, MSN, BSN, RN, CM-DRN, Dena Pollak, Bianca Wise, and Dr. Ericka Simms-Hannah, DNP, CM-DRN, RN. Representing a wide range of healthcare careers, it was wonderful to see these women come together to inspire, educate, and empower DWD Scholars as they embark on their own healthcare journeys. Their stories of resilience, growth, and purpose reminded us all that there are no limits to what you can achieve in healthcare when you put your heart into it! #HerHandsHeal #WomenInHealthcare #DwyerWorkforceDevelopment #Inspiration
