Today, It is with deep sadness that Dyke Industries, Inc. is announcing the passing of Cliff Cornelius. Cliff began his career with Dyke Industries in 1983 as the General Manager in Charlotte. In 2012, Cliff served as Vice President and Senior Vice President for the company until his retirement in December of 2021. Tim Alber, GM of Dyke Atlanta, described Cliff to be like a second father after working together for almost 40 years; “Cliff taught me what I feel is the golden rule in business, to do what you say you will do, because your reputation is more important than anything else. I will miss him dearly.”    Tom Armstrong, who worked with Cliff for over 30 years said; “Cliff was a dedicated employee of Dyke Industries. Along with Tom Moore, Ronnie Landon, Mike and Carl McVay, he was instrumental in putting Dyke Industries on the map in the two-step distribution business. He was an invaluable resource with his expertise in what he brought to the company. Cliff guided me as well as many others through the day-to-day obstacles of what it takes to be a successful and profitable distribution center. He knew better than most how to make a buck, and I will sincerely miss his friendship.”   Chris Mercier, President & CEO, had this to say about Cliff; “I only had the chance to work with Cliff for a few years toward the end of his career. I always enjoyed our conversations, both about business and about life in general. He spoke his mind, and with little ambiguity which some people had a hard time appreciating. For those who got to know Cliff, what he said was often exactly what you needed to hear. He had a great passion and love for our industry and for Dyke Industries.
