Important Update from our SVP of Consulting, Megan Richardson: Beginning in September of 2023, DCSI began providing training and communications around the Department of Labor's (DOL) intention to update the minimum salary threshold for exempt employees. Last month, we shared that regulations were passed for a two-phase implementation which would increase the salary threshold to $43,888 effective TODAY and $58,656 on January 1, 2025, as well as every 3 years from this point forward. You may have seen today that there was an injunction filed in Texas to halt the increase. PLEASE NOTE: THIS APPLIES ONLY TO THE STATE OF TEXAS AS AN EMPLOYER. ALL OTHER BUSINESSES, INCLUDING ALL PRIVATE BUSINESSES WITHIN TEXAS, MUST COMPLY WITH THE INCREASE. There are several additional lawsuits pending, however ALL other employers must comply until a court says otherwise. DCSI will continue to keep you up to date as we learn more.
