We are extremely humbled to be an awardee for the Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health (ARPA-H) Precision Surgical Interventions Program. Through this program, 𝘄𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗲𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝘂𝗽 𝘁𝗼 $𝟮𝟮 𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗱𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗿𝘀 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗻𝗲𝘅𝘁 𝗳𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗮𝗱𝘃𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝘁𝗶𝘀𝘀𝘂𝗲 𝘃𝗶𝘀𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘇𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗽𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗴𝗲𝗿𝘆.
Among the multiple prime awardees chosen by ARPA-H, we are honored to be the 𝗼𝗻𝗹𝘆 𝗽𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗻𝘆 alongside other top academic institutions. Through this program, we will have the privilege to lead a team of world experts in surgical medicine, biomedical imaging, and artificial intelligence, from sub-awardee institutions, including Stanford University School of Medicine, Johns Hopkins Medicine, Endeavor Health/ NorthShore University HealthSystem, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and University of Notre Dame.
It is our great honor to have 𝗗𝗿. Lisa Marie Knowlton, MD, MPH, FACS, FRCSC from Stanford University School of Medicine as our Co-Principal Investigator. Other esteemed co-investigators include 𝗗𝗿. Currently, nearly 40% of in-hospital events are related to complications arising from surgical procedures. Surgeons must avoid accidentally damaging critical structures—nerves, blood vessels, ducts, and organs—to prevent long term consequences for the patients’ health. Unfortunately, many critical structures have similar color and texture to surrounding tissue and are difficult to see under standard operating room (OR) lighting, with or without magnification. Cision Vision combines its breakthrough shortwave infrared imaging technology with Large Language Model (#LLM) based AI algorithms to provide real-time surgical insights to surgeons without any contrasting agent. #AI #medtech #medicaldevice #medicaldevices #laparoscopy #surgeons
