Earlier this month, our Rainbow Alliance Network ERG held “Growing with Pride”  — a panel discussion for everyone at EarnIn to learn about creating an inclusive and supportive environment. Panelists were members of our team who shared stories of resilience and community support, speaking about their experiences growing up and learning about themselves. We also heard from parents of LGBTQIA+ children and how they foster an open, supportive environment for their kids. Pride is a growing conversation with people sharing their new perspectives and stories as they begin to feel safe and proud of who they are. We’re grateful to have a diverse team of inclusive individuals who are receptive to others’ experiences. Creating space to share these stories is how we make the world even more inclusive and supportive. We’re all in this together. 🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️ Special thanks to our Rainbow Alliance Network ERG for putting this event together, our esteemed panelists Stan L., Kristina Hathaway, Beth Woods, and Nick Raccioppi, as well as everyone at EarnIn who participated, asked questions, and shared their stories with us.

Juneteenth is a day that balances reflection and celebration. We sat down with Kimberly Ngiangia, Esq., MSW, Commercial Generalist Counsel at EarnIn, to talk about both sides of the holiday. What does Juneteenth mean to you? I was first introduced to Juneteenth during my college years in Berkeley/Oakland, California. For me, the day offers a chance to reflect on the sacrifices of our ancestors and the continual battles we face today to realize freedom. It's important to keep history and racial injustice at the forefront of our lives, which I think Juneteenth celebrations play an active role in. Is there a memorable Juneteenth moment that stands out to you?  “Fam Bam” in Oakland. I used to love sitting near Lake Merritt, listening to music, doing the electric slide, and celebrating the richness of black people and culture. Being around my community in such a positive and uplifting way, warmed my heart each year. What’s made EarnIn a unique or rewarding place to work for you? EarnIn is doing some amazing work to help people realize greater financial access and freedom. I’m proud of the work we’re doing and the people who are working alongside me. People are bright and driven, but most importantly people are focused on making a positive difference in the lives of our community members. Looking to join an inclusive team that’s impacting people’s daily lives? EarnIn is hiring and we’re looking for passionate, driven, and collaborative people who are ready to join us in leading the way: https://bit.ly/48iksmZ #Earnin #LifeAtEarnin #Juneteenth

Personal expression, living openly, and representation matter when it comes to celebrating Pride month. We sat down with Steven Cho, Director of Capital Markets & Treasury, and talked about the importance of Pride Month. What does Pride Month mean to you personally?      Pride Month holds deep significance for me. Growing up in a conservative Korean immigrant family, I learned early on the importance of representation and living authentically. Pride symbolizes the courage to live openly and the progress we've made towards equality. Witnessing the historic 2015 marriage equality ruling in New York was a moment of immense joy and pride, marking our journey from the Stonewall riots in 1969 to today. In the current political climate, where support for inclusivity may waver, representation remains crucial. Many parts of the world, and even areas within the United States, still face challenges regarding LGBT+ rights. What’s your favorite resource to share with others who want to learn more about Pride Month?   One book that I find particularly inspiring and insightful is "The Velvet Rage." It captures the journey many gay men experience, from coming out to achieving self-acceptance, and offers valuable perspectives on embracing one's true self. Its message of resilience and personal growth resonates with both LGBT+ individuals and allies, making it a meaningful read for anyone who feels different from societal norms. What actions have allies or members of the community been particularly impactful for LGBT+ community? The most impactful actions often come from allies outside the LGBT+ community. Their advocacy carries immense weight, as they can reach and influence others who may not fully understand the LGBT+ experience. By standing with us, they help amplify our voices and strengthen our fight for equality, presenting a unified front that drives positive change. Why should others consider joining EarnIn? What makes it a unique and rewarding place to work?     EarnIn is defined by its incredible diversity. Our global team, spanning leadership and colleagues in India, Thailand, and Mexico, fosters an inclusive environment where everyone is valued for their authentic selves. At EarnIn, my fintech expertise is appreciated, and inclusivity is genuinely celebrated. The exceptional talent at EarnIn and our collaborative structure enable great ideas to be quickly implemented, making a direct impact on millions of consumers. As a pioneer in early wage access, EarnIn is just getting started, with much more to achieve. If you are passionate, driven, and ready to make a real difference, EarnIn is the place for you. Support can be found in many places. As Pride month begins, we talked with Ernesto Lopez, Sr. Site Ops Engineer at EarnIn, about how he finds resources and connects with the LGBTQIA+ community. What does Pride Month mean to you? Pride Month is a time for the LGBTQIA+ community to unite, support each other, and celebrate our achievements and the challenges we've overcome. To take pride in our collective efforts and continue advocating for acceptance and understanding for everyone. What’s your favorite resource to share with people interested in learning about the history of the LGBTQIA+ community? One of my favorite resources is the podcast "Making Gay History," which offers rich and insightful oral histories from the LGBTQIA+ community. For those particularly interested in youth, and mental health perspectives, I recommend "The Trevor Project." I also recommend “Latino USA” for LGBTQIA+ issues within the Latino community. These invaluable resources are for anyone looking to deepen their understanding and support of our community. Tell us about what motivated you to take a leadership role in the Rainbow Alliance Network Employee Resource Group (ERG)? I was motivated to join because of the sense of community and acceptance I found among its members. The inclusive and supportive environment made me feel at home, and I wanted to contribute to fostering that same feeling for others by taking on a leadership role. What makes EarnIn a unique and rewarding place to work? The company values inclusion and growth, both professionally and personally. EarnIn's commitment to fostering an environment where everyone feels heard and valued makes it an excellent place to advance your career while making meaningful contributions. Work moves so fast these days that it can be easy to let our mental health take a backseat while trying to keep up. As we celebrate Mental Health Awareness Month, we sat down with Antonia Boscacci, our Customer Operations Specialist at EarnIn, to tell us why carving out time for your mental health is so important. What does mental health awareness mean to you, and why is it important? In an area where life is so quick-paced, it can be hard to take a second for ourselves. It’s important to remember the little things in life that bring us tremendous joy and happiness as well. How do you think mental health awareness intersects with efforts to promote diversity, inclusion, and belonging in the workplace? By recognizing and addressing the unique challenges faced by individuals from diverse backgrounds. Understanding the intersectionality of identities allows for tailored support and accommodation for employees with mental health needs. By promoting a culture of empathy, support, and inclusivity, organizations can foster a sense of belonging where all employees feel valued and empowered to thrive. Can you recommend a resource or activity that’s been helpful in terms of your mental health and well-being? Therapy! Look into resources provided by your company! It’s extremely beneficial because it provides a safe space for individuals to explore their thoughts, emotions, and experiences, leading to greater self-awareness, personal growth, and improved mental well-being. What motivated you to take on a leadership role in the Mindful Mates Employee Resource Group (ERG)?  To break the stigma! Mental health is important and the current stigma following it discourages people from taking part in self-care. I wanted to be a role model, showcasing the many resources provided by EarnIn and how immensely beneficial and enriching it can be. Why do you find EarnIn to be a unique place to work?  EarnIn cares! They care for your career growth and your mental growth. With folks like Antonia leading the charge at EarnIn, it’s easy to care. South Carolina Governor McMaster signed Senate Bill 700, the Earned Wage Access Services Act, into law this week. This is a significant step forward in innovation and meeting workers’ modern needs, and adds to the growing list of states supporting earned wage access. We owe a tremendous amount of gratitude to Tom Davis for his leadership, as well as to Senator Wes Climer, Chairman Rep. Bill Sandifer, and Rep. Bart Blackwell for championing this bill. S.700 is a testament to our collective commitment to workers to ensure safe and accessible financial services, empowering people to manage their finances with greater flexibility and dignity. Great work to Yvonne Chao for your work and dedication on the issue on behalf of EarnIn and the customers we serve. EarnIn's Ben LaRocco and Jay Scheinman were in Topeka, Kansas for Governor Kelly's signing of House Bill 2560 into law. This law broadens financial access and inclusion while also making tangible strides in safeguarding the rights of workers and consumers, adding to the growing list of states supporting pro EWA legislation. Special thanks to Representative Nick Hoheisel and  Senator Jeff Longbine for their leadership on this issue. #EarnIn #EarnedWageAccess #EWA

Stories connect us across backgrounds in ways we can never fully anticipate. Which makes Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month a great reason to go find a story from the AAPI community that surprises us. We spoke with Carole Yang, HRIS Analyst here at EarnIn, about what stories AAPI Heritage Month evokes for her. How do you personally connect to AAPI Heritage Month? AAPI Month is a time for me to reflect on my heritage, to celebrate and appreciate not only my own culture but the amazing richness and diversity of the entire AAPI group. Lately, I’ve been drawn to reading memoirs and stories from AAPI authors. More often than not, the stories and lived experiences of complete strangers are the ones that touch me the most, for how much I can relate to them. Reading these stories helps me feel a sense of connection and belonging to my AAPI community. What’s one tradition in your community that holds particular significance to you? Lunar New Year is one of the biggest holidays that we celebrate in my own culture, and I love that it’s celebrated by many other AAPI cultures. I feel extremely blessed to live in an area with a large Asian community, and it’s such a joy to see all the celebratory festivities at that time of year. The Lunar New Year represents many things, but for me I find significance in the celebration of a new season, ushering out the old and welcoming in the new, and finding time to gather with family and friends. What do you like the most about working at EarnIn?   EarnIn has continually challenged me to grow in the years that I’ve been here, and it’s encouraged me to find the pockets of work that I’m really passionate about. It’s not always a given that you can find this type of career growth and encouragement at a company, and I don’t take it for granted. Here’s to more seasons of growth together, Carole. Spring is a time of renewal — whether it’s the flowers or your career. Just ask Nicole Miller, EarnIn’s Associate General Counsel (and Minnesota native), who cherishes the growth spring brings… What about spring do you find most inspiring or rejuvenating?  Spring is my favorite season. Growing up in Minnesota, which has very long and very cold winters, spring was always an exciting time. People were in good spirits and we would wear shorts and sweatshirts on 40-degree days! Even now, living in California, I love the blooming flowers, the longer days, and the return to more sunshine after the rainy season. It’s hard to stay inside when the sun feels like a warm hug! What advice would you offer for the season ahead? Get outside as much as you can, while the weather is mild. Watch the trees budding, listen to the birds chirping, and enjoy some fresh spring strawberries and cherries. Why should someone consider working at EarnIn?   The people here are great and really focused on making a difference in everyday people’s lives. Everyone I work with is kind, funny, collaborative, smart, respectful, and helpful. We all want EarnIn and its mission to succeed, which leads to great teamwork and creativity. Plus, there are a lot of opportunities for career growth and development. If change is in the air in your career, check out the opportunities with Nicole and the rest of the EarnIn team on our careers page: https://bit.ly/48iksmZ #LifeAtEarnIn #EarnIn
