The verdict against Greenpeace sends a chilling signal to anyone defending natural & human rights in the U.S. We stand with Greenpeace as they appeal & continue to fight for our 1st Amendment rights. We will not be silenced by corporate greed. https://lnkd.in/ex7b6fx2

🚨California’s State Mining and Geology Board is proposing a new regulation to guide the process for exempting mining projects from the state’s most important mining law, the Surface Mining and Reclamation Act. A loophole in the law allows some mining projects to skip over important environmental protections. The board is proposing a new regulation to standardize the exemption process. But their proposal comes up short. It still allows decisions to be made behind closed doors, without a fair say for tribes and local communities. 🚫 If you live in California, your name is needed! 🗣️ Send a comment to the board today. 🔗bit.ly/smara-alert

A verdict is expected this week in the Energy Transfer vs Greenpeace trial. This case attempts to erase Indigenous leadership, criminalize free speech, and establish a dangerous precedent to target any opposition to corporate power. For those who care about justice and the power of people to bring about change, this impacts us all! We stand w/ Greenpeace & all defenders of #freespeech. Read more 🔗➡️ https://cnn.it/4iCOFlb

The European Union’s Omnibus proposal would weaken key corporate accountability and sustainability requirements. Read more about the Omnibus’s impact on Indigenous Peoples from the SIRGE Coalition.
📢 The recent Omnibus proposal marks a major setback for corporate accountability and sustainability. It prioritizes business interests while sidelining Indigenous Peoples, other rightsholders, and affected communities. 📃 The proposal would weaken corporate sustainability policies, including the Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD), the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), and the Taxonomy Regulation, threatening to roll back protections for Indigenous Peoples and the environment. 🗣️ We urge the European Parliament and Council to reject the Omnibus proposal and uphold strong corporate accountability. ➡️ Read more in our statement: https://lnkd.in/eUBf_DZb #IndigenousPeoples #IndigenousRights #ClimateJustice

♻️ Recycling Won’t Save Us—But This Might! 🌍🔥 This Global Recycling Day, let’s shift the focus. We need systemic change, not just personal responsibility. That means holding corporations accountable for their waste and pushing for policies that actually reduce pollution at the source. 🏭💸 We’ve all heard it: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle! But let’s be real: corporations overproduce plastic waste, and they want us to feel guilty instead of holding them accountable. Recycling plastic isn’t enough. We need bold action NOW! ✊💚 #HoldPollutersAccountable #ZeroWaste #GlobalRecyclingDay

🚨METHANE NEWS ALERT 🚨 Last Friday, Trump eliminated the methane pollution rule, proving again his alignment w/ corporate polluters over people's health. The WEC would have worked to cut methane pollution and hold O&G operators accountable. At a time when we are barreling towards climate catastrophe, we need MORE accountability & common sense energy policy, not LESS. Colorado is highly lauded for its regulation of the oil & gas industry. But current rules do ❌ NOT ❌ equal accountability for harm. O&G industry is given the benefit of the doubt rather than the burden of proof & frontline communities suffer the consequences: https://lnkd.in/gKR4sdaM
