Check out this picture of our dedicated, student-run Glencairn Gives Back Committee who chose to focus on service projects throughout the year. Here they are hard at work making posters and flyers to spread the word about their first initiative: creating a clothing closet right on campus. This special space will provide gently used and new clothing for students who may need a change of clothes—offering dignity, comfort, and support. Their kickoff on February 3rd was a huge success—and they've already received five bags of clothing! Thank you to everyone who has contributed so far! Stay tuned for more ways to help. 👕👖❤️

Our fifth-grade students had an amazing time visiting 54 Court B on their field trip to learn about government. They explored how our legal system works, engaged in interactive discussions, and even had the change to take an "Oath of Office." Thank you to everyone who made this trip possible. We love watching our students connect learning with the real world! 🏛️

Do you have a child starting Kindergarten in Fall 2025? Join us for Kindergarten Information Night! 📅 Date: February 19, 2025 🕕 Time: 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM 📍 Location: MacDonald Middle School Both resident and non-resident families are welcome! Learn about Enrollment, Schools of Choice, Transportation, Great Start Readiness Program (GSRP), English Learners, Before and After Care, and everything you need to prepare your child for Kindergarten. 🔹 Children must turn 5 by December 1, 2025. 🔹 Enrollment must be completed online at www.elps.us. We can’t wait to meet our future kindergarteners! 💙📚

Need a mid-morning snack? ELHS has free breakfast snacks until 10am for any students who need something to eat. How to get free breakfast: know your student code and type it in at the vending machine on the way to the student union, as long as you haven't already used the before-school breakfast line option.

The next meeting of the Community Advisory Committee for the East Lansing High School Health Clinic will be held Wednesday, February 12, 2025 at 6:00 p.m. The meeting will be held in the Hub at ELHS – please enter through Door #1 (the main entrance). Light dinner will be provided. Representatives from UM Sparrow Health System will be at the meeting!

There will be no school on February 14th for Staff Professional Learning Day and February 17th in observance of Presidents' Day. There will also be no school on March 7th for Staff Professional Learning.
