The totals are in! Together with Walmart and Sam's Club shoppers, associates and suppliers, we raised over $138,000 through the Fight Hunger. The city of Tyler came out on top for the first East Texas Food Bank Spread the Love Peanut Butter Drive between the cities of Tyler and Longview, led by the mayors of each community. Tyler raised 20,202 jars of peanut butter versus 18,393 for Longview; totaling 38,595 jars of peanut butter. “Everyone is a winner in this friendly competition because the food and funds collected will help East Texans in need,” said Kim Morris, Chief Impact Officer for the ETFB. “The peanut butter and funds we collected is helping us fill the shelves of our pantry partners in Longview and Tyler. We are so thankful to everyone who participated in this event. Each jar represents a family who will be able to have nutritious food that is high in protein.” Learn more about the drive at https://lnkd.in/gYcYEHBW

Mother/daughter teams through the East Texas chapters of the National Charity League are making birthday celebration kits for ETFB to give to our neighbors for their special day. Megan Morgan and her 12 year old daughter Riley dropped off kits this week for the Tyler Resource Center. Each kit includes a baking tray, cake mix, frosting and items to celebrate a birthday such as candles or decorations. Thank you for this wonderful donation!

The East Texas Food Bank held a Senior Hunger Volunteer Appreciation Day today to thank and support our volunteers who assist with the Senior Box Program in their communities. We could not serve the over 4,600 seniors who receive boxes from us each month without their assistance and commitment. This event was also held in memory of Harley Crouch.
