Reflecting on our unforgettable ribbon-cutting ceremony at the REACH Academy and Cox Academy campus, where we officially opened this vibrant new space! With kid-designed play structures, a nature exploration area, new soccer pitch, multi-sport court, and Little Town Library, this build opens up a world of possibilities for students, creating a safe, inspiring space for play, discovery, and connection every single day. With 25 schoolyards in our sights by 2026, we’re dedicated to building places where kids can thrive. Huge thanks to our incredible partners, KABOOM!, Oakland Unified School District, Workday, Kaiser Permanente, and all the amazing volunteers and supporters who make these builds a reality. We’re still celebrating our 15th schoolyard build, completed at REACH Academy this past September! Featuring kid-designed play structures, a nature exploration area, a new soccer pitch, multi-sport court, vibrant murals, and even a Little Town Library to foster play, connection, and community. With 25 schoolyards in our sights by 2026, we’re creating places where kids can thrive! None of this would have been possible without the support of KABOOM!, Oakland Unified School District, Workday, and Kaiser Permanente. Special thanks to the REACH Academy and Cox Academy communities, and our entire village of volunteers and supporters! Video: OpenLight Films

Looking back at one of our favorite summer events—the fifth annual Workday Charity Classic, benefiting Eat. Learn. Play. Foundation! It was an incredible day spent raising funds in support of Oakland youth. Thanks to the generosity of Workday, Co-Founder Aneel Bhusri, and all who participated, 100% of the event proceeds will provide high-dosage one-on-one tutoring for 10,000 elementary students, ensuring they have the tools to excel in reading. In addition, Eat. Learn. Play. is committing $25 million over the next five years to support Oakland students through literacy programs. Huge shoutout to everyone who made the day possible including: Stephen Curry, Ayesha Curry, Curry Brand, Under Armour, Callaway Golf, Dryvebox, Domaine Curry, Gentleman's Cut, International Smoke, Rakuten, Nirvana Super, Sweet July, Tacos Sinaloa, Ghirardelli Chocolate Company, Mela Bistro, Michael Mina, Stanford Golf Course, Birdie's at Stanford Golf, Amanda Balionis, Kelley James, and #WDAYAmbassadors: Larry Fitzgerald Jr., Matt Kuchar, Steve Young, Peyton Manning, Brandi Chastain, and Harris Barton. Eat. Learn. Play. is honored to be a beneficiary and partner of the Sohn San Francisco Investment Conference on October 15th.
Have you met these incredible organizations? Take a moment to get to know our 2024 SohnSF Investment Conference beneficiaries! The Posse Foundation model works for both students and college campuses and is rooted in the belief that a small, diverse group of talented students—a Posse—carefully selected and trained, can serve as a catalyst for individual and community development. SMART (Schools, Mentoring and Resource Team) champions education-equity by supporting students in overcoming systemic barriers on their journey to a college degree. Founded by Stephen and Ayesha Curry in 2019, Eat. Learn. Play. Foundation launched with a focus on improving the lives of kids and families in Oakland, the Bay Area and across the country. Rooted in three of the most vital pillars for a healthy childhood—nutrition, education and physical activity—Eat. Learn. Play. is working to ensure that every child in Oakland has access to the nutritious food they need to be healthy and thrive; resources to learn and love to read; and safe places and equitable opportunities to play. Rise Together Education provides one-on-one mentorship, support and financial resources to low–income Palo Alto High School graduates who have been accepted to college with 98% of funds raised going directly to students.
