Congratulations to all of the brands nominated as finalists for the 2024 CEW Beauty Awards. Having just celebrated our second year in business, we are so incredibly humbled to share that we have received our first-ever CEW nomination within the Indie Fragrance category for our Latin-inspired fragrance, FRUTO OSCURO (“dark fruit”). FRUTO OSCURO is a part of EAUSO VERT’s newest collection HERENCIA (“heritage"), which was our way of honoring the ingredients and traditions pioneered by Latin communities but perhaps lesser known through the lens of fine fragrance. Inspired by centuries-old dessert recipes, FRUTO OSCURO is like sitting at an altar of dark and fleshy fruits, the kind that stain the fingertips red. Decadent and slightly tart, its smoky base translates into a familial warmth. If you are a CEW (Cosmetic Executive Women) member, please remember to vote for FRUTO OSCURO! x 🗳️ MEMBERS VOTE HERE ➡ https://lnkd.in/gzwzds-j
This time last year I was exploring the possibility of creating a fragrance collection that drew inspiration from my Latin heritage, but when I shared this idea with others, I was met with skepticism. I was told (on more than one occasion) that Latin-inspired fragrance would be too niche and unable to appeal to the masses, particularly within the luxury category. How could this be? The Latin community makes up nearly one-in-five people in the U.S. today and it’s estimated that by 2050, 30% of the population will be Hispanic. Despite this, the fragrance industry as a whole has yet to fully reflect the cultural richness and vibrancy of our community. So what did I do? I believed in what I knew to be true. Faye Harris and I made it a point to develop fragrances that I wish had existed when browsing fragrance counters in my youth. Fragrances that not only showcased ingredients pioneered by Latin communities but also proudly displayed the Spanish language, as luxury spaces tend to perceive French products as having greater value. The truth is, the future of fragrance is Latin—and yes, Latin IS luxury. And as it turns out, others believe in our vision too. We've been overwhelmed by the positive response to our Latin collection and are grateful for the opportunity to place our heritage at the center of luxury spaces like Bergdorf Goodman, Moda Operandi, Inc, and soon, FWRD. But that's not all… I'm SO thrilled to share that our fragrance FRUTO OSCURO (“dark fruit”), a unique blend of capulín (Mexican black cherry), upcycled patchouli heart, and zapote negro (black persimmon), has been nominated as a finalist for the 2024 CEW Beauty Awards within the Indie Fragrance category.
