Agmonitor Inc. continues to shine as the leading energy-water-carbon manager for growers delivering massive $$$ savings to Ridge Vineyards and other large ag operations under increasing electricity prices. Olivier Jerphagnon
Through optimizing energy utility rates, increasing water pump efficiency, and closely managing solar assets, instead of a 40-50% increase in cost with PG&E price increases Ridge Vineyards actually achieved a 9% decrease in overall energy costs. AgMonitor not only helps dramatically reduce energy bills for our farmers with already thin margins, but also helps them improve their carbon footprint to do more with less energy resources. We believe the future of farming is water efficient, energy efficient, and forward thinking. We love seeing Ridge Vineyards accomplish so much with AgMonitor and are excited to see how they continue to grow! #water #agtech #agriculture #wine #cleantech #farming #vineyards #sustainability

Jack Schaufler, Echo River’s spring MBA intern, takes us on a deep dive into the intersection of hydrogen and water, and why hydrogen just might be an important and investable water-tech opportunity. Clean, green hydrogen is expected to grow from near zero to 125-585 million tons by 2050, according to Mckinsey, with water being the most likely feedstock, putting even more stress on limited supplies in water-stressed areas. Is green hydrogen a water-efficient substitute for fossil fuels?

Did you know that aquatic ecosystems like reservoirs, lakes, and wetlands contribute about half of global methane emissions, a critical greenhouse gas with up to 80x the global warming potential of carbon dioxide over 20 years? At Echo River Capital, we're taking this issue seriously and working towards mitigating climate change through strategic investments in innovative companies to decarbonize the water cycle.
