What's better than one Impact Report? Two of course! We love working with, and learning from, our friends across the pond. Collaborating with Vegware makes us better at everything we do, and you'll see a lot of that work highlighted in these two reports. If you haven't taken a look yet, what have you been waiting for? We are excited to highlight a group of students making a big difference at Emory University 👏 In the three months that Slow Food Emory, a local campus chapter of the international Slow Food Movement has been running, the group has rescued about 3,000 meals! When the group first started, our SE Divisional Sales Manager Ken worked to get a large donation of our containers sent to them. Since then, Slow Food Emory does recoveries four times a week, packing 50-100 meals a night. The food is distributed to students and staff who may struggle with dining access. They often have regulars who take multiple meals! Because of the consistency of the recoveries and the expressed need from people receiving the food, the group has secured containers funded by the university, and now have other universities reaching out seeking advice on how to get started. A huge shoutout to Sabrina from Slow Food Emory for being their spokesperson, and Ken from our Eco-Products team for working together to eliminate food waste! "Thank you for making food recovery a lasting program here and believing in our cause!" - Sabrina "I love these kids and what they have done. Great how a small group that cares and sees a need is able to grow into a large opportunity to make a difference in the lives of others." - Ken

In honor of #BioplasticsWeek we're celebrating the use of plant-based plastics such as PLA (Polylactic Acid) and PHA (Polyhyrockalanoate) in our GreenStripe line of products. With the circular benefits of being made from renewable, plant-based materials and being compostable in commercial composting facilities - these versatile raw materials are fan favorites. What are your favorite PLA or PHA products from the Eco-Products lineup?

Last week we had the pleasure of participating in the Improving the Circularity of Compostables and Compost event hosted by Compost Manufacturing Alliance LLC and facilitated by Future Search - an open-source strategic planning methodology that is highly structured and designed to create an environment where action-based strategies around complex issues and systems are possible. 110 different organizations were present from across the value chain, and we emerged after 3 long days of intense discussion with 10 strategic initiatives designed to make the system work better than it is working today. A special thank you to Susan Thoman and everyone on the Steering Committee (including our own Megan Jorgensen) for all of the hard work that went into this event! And thanks to Evan Kruse for the capturing this photo!

Last year, one of our compost partners, Better Earth Logistics contacted Jamie Brown, our Midwest Product & Zero Waste Specialist (PZW) to help address contamination in the compost stream for one of their customers, Knox College Through collaboration with key players at Knox College, Jamie and the college's sustainability team assessed the issues causing the contamination. By utilizing Eco-Products' CIRC (Controls Intended to Remove Contamination) program, they were able to clean up Knox's compost stream, allowing Better Earth Logistics to confidently reinstate compost collection services. Read more about the behind-the-scenes efforts that led to the successful relaunch of composting at Knox College here: https://bit.ly/4gKLO9I To learn more about CIRC, visit https://bit.ly/4gK9Wt9
