    I am very excited to be joining the Ecumen board of directors with my cousin, fellow St. Olaf College grad, business leader and all around amazing women Jen Augustson. We were both thrilled to hear from Shelley Kendrick Ecumen CEO on the strategic vision for the organization as well as meet the new CFO Douglas Harrison, MBA. Biggest issues discussed include market and regulatory risks in senior affordable housing as well as shifting demographics and labor needs. Hopefully this real estate guy can help.

In fact, two out of three older workers believe they are subject to age discrimination, which costs the economy billions in lost productivity and opportunities.     Our Ecumen dietitian nutritionists have just spent the last three days at the Food and Nutrition Conference and Expo (FNCE), hosted right here in Minnesota! This national event brought together leading experts in the field of nutrition. They attended sessions on everything from gut microbiome health to cutting-edge malnutrition research, food insecurity, culinary medicine, leadership, and diabetes advancements. The expo was a fantastic opportunity to sample new foods and supplements, while networking with vendors and fellow nutrition professionals. What an inspiring and educational experience!

    At Ecumen Detroit Lakes, our independent living residents saw an opportunity in an unused office space and transformed it into a cozy, inviting library filled with their favorite books! 📚 We’re all about empowering our residents to make their own choices, and they turned that empty room into exactly what they envisioned. The new library was unveiled with a special open house, and it’s already become a favorite gathering spot in the community! Fantastic job, Ecumen Detroit Lakes team!

    When Ione moved to Ecumen Pathstone, like many, it took some time to adjust. She was used to a routine of cooking, cleaning, tending to her garden, and keeping busy with the everyday tasks of life. The transition to a new living environment was a change, but thanks to the Montessori approach we embrace here at Ecumen, Ione quickly found her rhythm again.
