CONNECTING AI TO THE REAL WORLD

About us

We're the EDGE AI FOUNDATION, formerly known as tinyML Foundation! We're a global non-profit community dedicated to building a global community dedicated to innovation, collaboration, advocacy, and education for efficient, affordable, and scalable edge AI technologies. Our mission? Create a highly active community of knowledge sharing, collaboration, networking, advocacy and education that democratizes and advances Edge Al We’re here to bring together researchers, developers, business leaders, and policymakers to tackle the big challenges in AI, from low-power machine learning to advanced edge computing. We believe in a future where trillions of intelligent devices work together to create a healthier, more sustainable world. Here’s how we’re making that vision a reality: - Building a diverse community: Connecting engineers, designers, and innovators from across the globe to collaborate on cutting-edge tech. - Sharing knowledge: Bridging the gap between academia and industry to fast-track innovation and real-world applications. - Inspiring breakthroughs: Highlighting the game-changing potential of edge AI with real-world examples. - Unlocking opportunities: Helping businesses tap into the power of edge AI across industries. Some of our key initiatives include wordlwide in-person and online events, the EDGE AI LABS, a hub for resources like high quality datasets and code, and the EDGE AIP (Academia & Industry Partnership), where we’re teaming up with educators to create certificates and scholarships to nurture the next generation of AI talent. At the EDGE AI FOUNDATION, we’re all about collaboration, innovation, and sustainability. Join us as we shape the future of AI for the better! 🌍

  • it was our observation too! edge AI was the big theme at the embedded world Exhibition&Conference this year.

What are my two cents and key take-away from Embedded World this year? From technical point of view, that's certainly the Edge AI. Everyone promoting, but not necessarily delivering. However, there are cases of great success, like Edge Impulse sold to Qualcomm this week. That really tells there's trust in business potential of Edge AI. More important is the general atmosphere and optimism in business. Everyone with whom I discussed said last year was difficult, but this year is doing much better. Based on that, I dare to forecast good times ahead. Well, of course if nothing dramatic happens in global politics. But from economy and business point of view only, looks promising. #ew25

A few days ago, I attended Edge AI COnference 2025 organized by Edge AI Foundation in Austin, focused on #EdgeAI. This means bringing advanced Machine Learnig, Small Language Models and other AI algorithms to local devices without relying on the cloud. The technology is promising, but the real challenge is finding 𝗽𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 where it truly adds value. When most people think of #AI, they picture massive cloud-based models crunching data remotely. But what happens when you need a device to make decisions with a limited or no 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗲𝘁 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻? Take a security system, for example. Instead of a basic motion sensor, imagine a camera equipped with AI that 𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗺𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝗰𝗮𝘂𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗯𝘆 𝗮 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗿 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗮 𝗽𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗱𝗼𝗴. Rather than sending images to the cloud for processing, the device itself 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗱𝗲𝗰𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗹𝘆 and only triggers an alert when necessary. Why does this matter? ✔ Decisions are made in real time. ✔ No need to send sensitive data to the cloud. ✔ Devices operate independently with optimized processing. The potential extends to all indistries: security, smart home and appliances, agricultural and industrial automation. At EmTech, we are already experts in #EmbeddedSystems, and exploring opportunities from automatic cattle management, to advanced sensing for industrial applications, to sound processing for security that can leverage #EdgeAI. The real challenge now? Not just developing the technology but figuring out 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝘁 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗲𝘀 𝗮 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹 𝗱𝗶𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲. Where do you see Edge AI having the biggest impact? Which industries could benefit the most from this shift?
