Taylor Swift's Eras tour was in town this weekend, and in the last year, I have tried to live by this quote. One of the FB Groups I am in referred to this feeling as being a member of the barf club (feeling like you were going to throw up but then doing it anyway), which I have been a member of through the process of starting this business. However, the neat thing is that once you do the thing that makes you want to throw up, it gets a little bit easier the next time you do it and then again the next time until it doesn't feel like a big deal. What is the thing that makes you feel like you are going to throw up, but you want to do it anyway?

Gap Year sometimes gets a bad rap for being only for people with a lot of money, but there are great low-cost, affordable gap year options. One option is AmeriCorps! I did a year of AmeriCorps in Cincinnati at a community school as a college counselor after earning my bachelor's degree and before starting graduate school. https://americorps.gov/

Mental Health Monday When I have spoken with college counseling centers, they have mentioned that there is usually an uptick in requests for mental health services in October on college campuses. The newness has worn off, the days are getting shorter, and it is getting colder. Check out my previous Mental Health Monday posts for some of the services colleges offer for mental health and see what your college or university offers. If you are just starting the college research process, make sure that checking out each college's mental health services is a part of your process!
