Empowering Students. Engaging Parents. Transforming Communities.
About us
In 1998, Edu-Futuro was founded by immigrant parent leaders in partnership with Arlington Public Schools in response to the need for academic enrichment and leadership development services for low-income immigrant youth and families. In the past two decades, Edu-Futuro has grown to become a multicultural community organization providing educational services to a diverse group of more than one thousand children, youth, and families annually in Northern Virginia. To help address the disparities facing immigrant youth and families across our region, Edu-Futuro offers life-changing programs that empower under-resourced youth and families through our education, leadership development, and after-school enrichment initiatives. Edu-Futuro’s core programs focus on education as the most important tool for advancing socioeconomic mobility among immigrant families. Our mission: Empowering under-resourced immigrant youth through education, leadership development, and family engagement, to become the next generation of professionals who transform their communities.

We had a wonderful time attending the Edu-Futuro Annual Recognition Event 2024, where we celebrated the incredible work of their students, community partners, volunteers, and instructors. It was a fantastic evening of bowling, mingling, and learning about Edu-Futuro's impactful work in our communities. We were thrilled to honor those who have played a vital role in making this work possible.

Such a heartwarming day volunteering with team Guidehouse at Edu-Futuro’s all day learning event for 6th-12th grade students and their parents. We met some very ambitious students and got our steps in walking groups from session to session on Marymount University’s campus. What a great community Edu-Futuro is building.

We are overjoyed to announce that Edu-Futuro’s public service television series, Línea Directa, has won an Emmy Award in the category of Societal Concerns - Long Form Content. Our winning episode, ‘Tras la Sombra del Fentanilo,’ addresses the pressing issue of drug overdoses among youth in the Washington region. This achievement is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our team, including Eduardo López, Andrea Sarralde, Nestor Bravo, and Bienvenido Martínez. We are grateful for this recognition and remain committed to using our platform to raise awareness and drive meaningful change.
