Privacy is about to change forever. Two Harvard students just showed us how. They used Meta’s Ray-Ban smart glasses to access personal info about strangers. It can ID people and pull up personal data – using AI. Their system, I-XRAY, uses facial recognition, reverse image search, and large language models. It finds names, addresses, phone numbers, and more. They tested I-XRAY on Harvard’s campus. It correctly identified strangers and their personal info. To top it, Meta recently said it might use any shared images and videos for AI training. Why does this matter? This demo shows how fast privacy and surveillance are changing in the AI age. The tasks involved remembering the location of numbers on a screen and correctly recalling the sequence. Young chimps outperformed university students in memory tests devised by scientists. This chimpanzee made headlines around the world for his ability to beat humans on memory tests, in both speed and accuracy.
