When thinking about AI at Educate, we stay grounded in our mission to support people in reaching their utmost potential and promoting fair, inclusive and fulfilling educational systems. We achieve this by educating individuals about AI's strengths and limitations, thoughtfully integrating AI tools into the learning process, and continuing to embody a transformational approach in our work and usage of AI. Our emphasis on human-centered AI prioritizes well-being, transparency, and data-driven choices. Incorporating AI into education offers remarkable advantages, as Yu (2024) highlighted. It paves the way for personalized and self-directed learning journeys, a goal educators have pursued for decades. Time constraints and numerous demands have often hindered progress, but AI opens doors to make this a reality. According to EdWeek Spotlight (2023), teachers already leverage AI for communication, lesson planning, and research support. Let's push the boundaries further and create an integrated approach with humans at the core, echoing the vision outlined in the Department of Education's Report on AI and the Future of Teaching and Learning (2023). Since its founding in 2000, Educate has been partnering with public, parochial, charter and independent schools in New York City, New Jersey, and Connecticut building technology programs that excite teachers, students and parents. Each year we mentor more than 200 teachers and co-teach over 4000 lessons in core curriculum subjects.

It was a pleasure to be part of the day of learning with the Special Education Liaisons last week at the Queens South High Schools District Office. Educate President Stacey Schultz and Innovation and Transformation Coach Kyle Liao led a session focused on AI, how we can leverage it as educators, and how we developed Unlock AI as a tool that transforms how we can effectively use the data we have to differentiate instruction for all students.
